Evaluate Glenn based on his character design, combat usefulness, and Tilt factor -- which can mean anything, from how much he strikes you as cool to how important he is to the plot.

Design: Glenn is not the green haired swordsman we all know and love. But he does have a very knight look of him.

Combat: Being one of the few characters with a double tech, he helps get the job done faster.

Tilt: He wields TWO FUCKING SWORDS!

Final Grade: A

Character Design: Glenn is basically a Private in the Acacia Dragoon's who looks vaguely like the human-Glenn from Chrono Trigger, complete with green hair...in the actual game. He's similar in many ways...he is soft-spoken, has a love he will defend with his life that is never truly his...

But there are differences. For one, he doesn't have an enemy that he loathes with every fibre of his being. He doesn't get turned into an odd creature. And he doesn't always join the party. Also, he likes flowers.

Combat Usefullness: Though I've never used him significantly, I can say he's the best green element in the game. He's a powerful, fantastically strong character...and he can duel-wield Einlanzers. That alone is awesome.

Tilt: How can you not like this guy? Everything about him is fantastic. He's, in a word, human. He's not a two-dimensional character like so many people in this game. He's solid from start to finish.

Final Grade: A.

Design: He looks like a swordsman. There is a hint of young (CT) Glenn in his design, but just a touch. He is among the more developed members of the cast, so he's got that going for him.

Combat: He's strong on his own, and also can do a dual tech. X-Strike even!

Tilt: He's clearly a character for the fans who'd Chrono Trigger first. A little wink and a nod in our direction. But he can't equal the amphibian southpaw.

Grade: B

Design: Wow, he's armed to the hilt, and his little wrist shield is cool. But it's unmercifully brown.

Usefulness: Two Einlanzers speak for themselves.

Tilt: I place a lot on character development, and Glenn sort of acts all puffed up at the beginning, then sulks a little. Pierre soundly defeats him in this department.

Design: Silver hair, battle scar, bandana, shield on arm, typical sword, and lots of armour. Very soldier. Looks pretty cool.

Combat: Has X-Strike. Two Einlanzers. A killing machine.

Tilt: One of the more interesting character stories, this guy always stood out from the crowd for me.

Grade: A

Character Design - He's a cool anime/manga knight character in a sea of cool anime/manga knight characters...Hell, he even has a facial scar...*groan* I don't know where people are getting, "Kinda looks like that young Glenn/Frog" when that was just the default male town sprite with green hair...He's got a bandana (which you can just barely see), which may or may not be a throwback to Crono...his hair is an ambiguous shade of light yellow...I'd say it's probably bleached. Overall, I think I'd like to see his design with both swords...or maybe he could have just smacked Serge upside the head, given him one of the swords and told him to use a real weapon instead of playing with sharpened oars like some kind of douchebaggy islander kid (oh wait, that's what he is...but we'll get to Serge when we get to Serge, eh?).

Combat Usefulness - He uses two broad swords which we haven't seen the likes of which since Final Fantasy I Fighters (11 Hits! or w/e) and that's pretty cool. I don't know if I can quite understand how he manages to weild the two beastly weapons in full mail and a small shield (like the shield's going to do much when he's got the swords)...but coolness for coolness sake has been a staple of the series. He's got a Double Tech with Serge that is a throwback to Crono & Frog's Double Tech and that's a nice nostalgic touch...not that I used it much.

Tilt Factor - He had a scene with Riddel and that bellflower thingy to show you that the sword is important to him so that later you can get both swords for him, there's a cutesy little picture that shows that he liked Riddel when he was younger (yet another thing that was never followed up on in CC) and he says one or two lines that I liked...Otherwise, though, he seemed like *surprise surprise* another nothing character. Also, he's the cause of people saying, "OMG Frog is a playable character in his human form in Chrono Cross! It's TRUE!" and other such nonsense (Frog's human form was way cooler looking than CC Glenn). And I hate repeating that it says that he was named after a hero from the past and THAT'S IT! Sorry, bub, but that alone bumps you down to...

Final Grade - C
