Would you elaborate on that?
Deus Ex featured quite a few roleplaying elements, from requiring proficiency in various skills(Weapons were divided into five subgroups, and there were also skills for computers, swimming, medicine use, lockpicking and electronics, and even the use of items like Hazmat Suits) to be able to do much of anything, to a huge number of augmentations to use to boost the characters ability, from giving them the ability to run and jump at super speeds, to being able to see through walls, and so on and so forth.
Also, it had an absolutely excellent story, and the main cast was for the most part superbly acted. (Everyone else was somewhat meh though.)
There were also lots of other little details, such as every problem having plenty of possible solutions and workarounds, especially when it came to approaching objectives.
From what I've been able to make out, Bioshock does a few of these things, but to a much lesser extent than Deus Ex did. I won't know till I play it though.
I do recommend playing Deus Ex, J. If you're excited about Bioshock, you'll love Deus Ex.
