Possibly some much needed HYPE for the Chrono Series...

I was browsing GameFAQS this morning, to view the latest poll, and new Top 10 list to see if either sparked my interest, when the Top 10 list caught my eye.

Hmmm. I know what series better be at the top, but will they do CT that honor?

Sure enough, to somewhat a surprise to me,
Number 1: Chrono

FINALLY!

A little recognition for our much beloved Chrono Series. I know it doesn't mean anything miraculous, or that it will hype up the Chrono Series enough to make a new game or anything. But GameFAQS is a somewhat large community, and if they get behind this idea who knows what we could accomplish. This could be the first of many mentions of the Chrono Series deserving new life.

In terms of the fan community, it's a morale booster, but I doubt Square-Enix will pay it any mind. While GameFAQs is certainly important for the American gaming market, to the Japanese it's not worth looking at.

Read it again. I thought that too at first, but he also says he personally loved it. He just says it's universally bashed, and while that's not true, the perception certainly exists.

I just hope this stirs up some buzz about the Chrono Series in general.

He takes a somewhat lackadaisical approach in writing about Cross, but he is sort of talking in generalities. He does have to appeal to a younger audience, the audience of GameFAQs. Which is typical around the 13-16 range for the most part.
I wish I had the data from the age polls that they sometimes put up in the poll of the day, to back that statement up.

How is Chrono Cross universally panned when it got a 36/40 from Famitsu, a 10/10 from Gamespot (OMGWTFBBQ) and a 9.7 from IGN? This game pwnd the RPG scene with its l33t gameplay skills and wicked arse story. People who hate it are the same people who hate seeing society progress.

If it offended you I'm sorry I actually only said that because I know a conservative Republican and he is basically what Burning Zepplin described plus he insults me of liking the chrono series. Im republican just not super conservative republican

All I know is that everyone in my Info Tech class is fervently voting for Magus in the Character Battle poll they've got going on. I actually managed to get CT and ZSNES on the school's server, so most everyone has played through it instead of learning Flash or fixing processors.

I'm one of those rare people who actually played Chrono Cross before I player Chrono Trigger, and I might even say I prefer CC. On my second time playing through I realized "this must be a sequel to something..." and then used the internets and discovered that it was. So I really can't see what everyone complains about.
