Consider using a general purpose search engine, such as Google or Yahoo, before coming here and asking us to explain things to you. If you put "emeritus" into Google, right above the search results, is a link to the definition. This is much faster than asking for simple definitions here.

A continuation of the above, http://dictionary.reference.com/ is a very accurate and useful site. It has a dictionary (of course), thesaurus, and very basic translating widget. If there is ever something you don't understand, try dictionary.com first. I use it pretty much all the time.

Hey, here's a question. I just took a look at the screenshot I took of me at 777 when I noticed that I still had the SoY icon. How come when SoY people get to special ranks (I.E., Sun Stoner, Lord Magus) their icons don't change, if for that one moment?

Also, although I enjoy the rank of Springtime of Youth, I'm not too thrilled with the icon. Any chance this could be changed soon?

Damn. Looks like there's no way to let it show up unless it's your primary membergroup, which forces the icon.

Simplicity. Logically, the member's main group and its icon should override the post group icon, otherwise there's no point in non-post group icons. It's also the easiest way to have it implemented in the template. Design-wise, having multiple icons would look overly cluttered. If you don't like it, then the only choice is to not have anything as your primary membergroup.

Also, since there's nothing that distinguishes "special" post group ranks from the others data/code-wise, the only way to make them temporarily take over the group icon for when you hit their post count requirements is to muck up the template with code that matches them on a case-by-case basis. And if we did that, then every time we change the ranks, we'd have to edit the template's code to match as well.
