Possible Rom or TF Issue?...
« on: January 15, 2008, 04:13:49 pm »
I was editing some stuff in TF, ends up being that when I saved it corrupted my rom.  I went to a back-up ran fine, tried again in TF but this time didn't change aynthing.  Just went to any random map and saved and tested, and it CORRUPTED AGAIN!  Doesn't matter WHERE I save, or if I do anything or nothing at all, it'll corrupt my rom...Any help...?

Edit: Tested some other roms and it corrupted then as well.  What the hell ><

Corrupted how? Ex: garbled looking map, blank screen when starting game, error message in TF, etc?  If it's an error message, got a screenshot?

More importantly, if there's a working before.ips you can attach to the thread, and a step-by-step of what to do to cause the problem, that would be a huge help to troubleshoot the issue.

Hm...I restarted my comp and TF was working fine.  It was odd, whenever I saved and tried entering ANY building via Overworld, it'd pop up witht he orange screen of death.  Really weird that it fixed itself after I restarted.  Musta been just a random bug in the rom that psychoed out.

Ha ha. I get this alot but can't ever be able to reproduce it. It's like a ghost bug. Sometimes a loc will give me a black screen of impending demise, then I'll get pissed off and quit working on my mod. Later, for no reason (and without messing with TemporalFlux) it would work perfectly.

I think this might have to do with the fact of loading ZSNES, quitting ZSNES, then maximizing the TemporalFlux window, editing, and repeat...over and over again. Over time of doing this, my Windows icons on my desktop would get all weird until I restart.

That would be a memory leak in either ZSNES or TF, most likely.

My money's on ZSNES, personally.

quitting ZSNES, then maximizing the TemporalFlux window, editing, and repeat...over and over again.

You can leave ZSNES open in non-fullscreen mode (use the [] next to the X in the upper right corner), and use Game -> Load to refresh the game, instead of quitting and reopening ZSNES each time.
