Insanely easy way to defeat Son of Sun

I've looked in many game walkthrus, boss faqs, and strategy guides but none of them have a really easy way of beating Son of Sun.  Here's the way that I beat it, which is quite easier than anything the gamefaqs walkthrus tell you to do.

First, hit it with any level 2 magic attack.  Wait for it to counter attack.  MAKE SURE THE FLAME THAT DOESN'T COUNTER ATTACK IS NOT ONE OF THE TWO FLAMES NEAREST TO YOU.  This only works if the flame is one of the three behind son of sun.  Now, use Magus' Blackhole, and suck the two nearest flames in.  Now, you're left with the three flames behind S.o.S, one of them being the target flame.  Now, hit the flame.  No matter how many times S.o.S does roulette shuffle, the flame will always be in the same position.  It really saves a lot of time.  Trust me.

PS-- in case there is someone who hasn't beaten S.o.S yet, you need to equip your party with Red mail, ruby armor, or red vests, or else you'll get pwned.

haha that's exactly what happened for me! i was starting to wonder why the flame was always at the same spot when i read that it would random...the part about getting pwned happened to me also *sob*

i beat him easy without any red or ruby equip, just the top aoen equip or whatever i had at the time, cant really remember, it was pretty easy really.

Yeah, he's not really the toughest boss or anything...And really? No FAQ told about the Black Hole trick? That's pretty standard stuff...

o yeh i read the black hole thing, but i killed magus, so i didnt have him. most of the time i managed to guess which flame was the right one in 1 or 2 tries, which was nice.

It took me, yes, believe it or not, HALF AN HOUR to kill SOS, without any Red Mail or Ruby Armor or anything, no cheats either! I swear! I just used a lot of Lapis'

Not even just the Taban equipment for Lucca?

Yes, I was wearing armor, but nothing that...hang on, yes I did have one set of Ruby Armor on Magus, but I swear that was all, i had to revive every1 lots (thank goodness I had lots of cash to buy items) though, but I finally made it through!

... wow, lavos didnt even take that long, just have marle do cure when someone is nearly dead, revive 2 when there dead, frog does heal when every1 has been hurt 200 - 400, and over that use double cure, have chrono use luminaire and confuse (for lavos obvoiusly)

for SoS i used the same party, more or less same tactics just frog and crono atak random flames until they hit the right one, then bombard it with all characters.

I found Lavos much easier compared to SOS, then again, they usually do that with side-missions, take FFX for example.

i know in golden sun 2 they made a boss that is definetly harder than the final boss, it was suposed to be, but i dont think thats what they did here, i always found SoS so much easier than lavos, firstly it has a LOT less health, it does a LOT less damage, has only one form, the fight should be comparable to that of the other side quests, ozzie slash and flea, the sand monster (forgot the name), mother brain and the rusty dinasour (also forgot its name, i just know it had rusty in it)

None of the bosses are hard if you're prepared armor, weapon, & Tech-wise.

Lol, or, you could beat Son of Sun the emulator way... Save state, and if you pick the wrong flame, reload your state until you do!
