Dalton's Last Stand
« on: January 26, 2008, 12:01:30 pm »
Well, until I get some feed back on if there's flame dungeons and what tileset we'd like to use for the Dreamtime I figured i might as well move on......

Anyways I usually don't post this soon but I was proud of this.  I took a page from Chrono 99's book and tried out using a tileset in a different way to make an outside area for Dalton's Dungeon.....I used the prison Catwalks and made this.....I think it's pretty nifty.

Tbe bottom is snow (since it's 11998 bc) and inside the door will be black in game

Another update, this is definitely one of my favorite mapping experiences, it's nice to use a good tileset.

Here's the inside, I have room for about 4 more side rooms below it and then I'll probably use another map for final stretch.  I'm not sure what Dalton's traps that backfire will be yet, I haven't even started on events but this map is so cool (to me) i couldn't help but share it.  As you probably guess I'm still super pumped on planes so of course they are in here, but this has multiple levels.......heck even I get lost running around this map.

The snow actually fits really well.  Only issue I see is just those tileset glithces (lil squares).  Fix that up and it'll be awesome.  Maybe if possible, you can remove one of the layer 3 things, and put some snowfall graphics in there and have it go across the screen like it's snowing =p

Alrighty I'd call this version .5 I thought I'd give a quick update:

You can walk around the place which is saying alot considering how complicated the map is.  There's 3 "Dalton" scenes

At the beginning you see him grumbling about how he gets lost
At the end of the first room you see him walk into an invisible wall, he then flips the switch and walk through
At the beginning of the 4th room you see him grumbling about how they change the password every day

He's waking away from a library room, wher eyou can go in and see a book where the password lies left open.  Theres a place holder where we can do another password even trick like with the zeal chapter.

I still gotta do enemies and a final cutscene and maybe throw in a couple more dalton moments.

Version 1.0

Enemies Added, small cutscene at the end.  This place is huge with alot of enemies.  It got so large that I had to use two locations for it.....now mind you there's plenty of dungesons we've done when I could use more than one location but I've been squeezing them in one place for less flux files and having to remember where everything is.

No response on the flame dungeons, technically the next NEW area is the final dungeon I believe (there's a few scenes in the last village and chronopolis).

If you find any bugs you can use the wiki or the bug thread:
