As you might know already, Ramsus is going to restore the frontend for the Chrono Compendium. With this comes the opportunity of finally diverting some of the focus from database construction and archiving of information to weekly features and attractions that will keep visitors coming to see fresh presentations. Not only will this invigorate the site, it will also make the Chrono Series itself seem somewhat more alive; the Compendium can become the pulse of the title, with our editorials and polls pumping new blood into it.
I've given it some thought while the Compendium is down, and this is my first idea for a way to handle this:
Events Committee
Events Commitee provides over these weekly features. It is composed of dependable, reliable and timely members who can meet a weekly deadline and collaborate with others on the Events board, which will be locked so that the features can remain a surprise each week.
Under the Committee, we have:
Polls
Each week, a new poll will be assigned. I'll post the poll at different boards; these will include Chronoshock, Chronicles, Gamefaqs (Chrono Trigger, Cross, Radical Dreamers), the Compendium, OCReMix (on a master thread; I'll handle this to reduce flaming) and anywhere else you suggest. This is much more widespread than simply running a poll on the site, and this way we can collect large results. At the end of the week, those responsible will visit their particular board, collect the data and report to the Events Committee, which will prepare it for presentation.
Editorials
Editorials can be a departure from our analysis and serious discussion. We can do simply things like rank the characters of Chrono Cross according to a certain attribute, or talk about the hardest dungeons in the series. Anything goes; these can be whimsical or even informative, and should reflect a good writing style and complete comprehension of the Chrono series. Members of the Committee will collaborate on or submit Editorials. Editorials are not weekly, but sporadic.
Sound good? And does anyone wish to volunteer at this stage?
