Chrono Trigger Timeline...
« on: February 19, 2008, 10:02:33 am »
If the entire world was saved at the end, regardless of all the 13 different endings (not including variations), wouldn't the timeline just even itself out?

I mean, if Crono merely just thought about going back in time and defeating a giant alien that was sapping away the earth's life, wouldn't that just destroy it in general?  The thought of an intangible being going and destroying the earth would've been completely unheard of.

Y'know what would really suck?

If the entire thing ended up in some kid's mind and he was just playing with Chrono, and the same thing with Serge, just like in Super Smash Bros, or even like the end of the Daft Punk Interstella 5555 movie.  That would be anticlimactic...

The idea of parallel timelines subjective to time-travel more or less opens infinite possibilities. it is a wild guess that no, it would not erase or rewrite it. It might in our imagination, but for the time being, it did not. As a matter of a fact, we don't even know what results once Serge awakens.

As for "Everything was just a dream/imagination" type of endings, I'd rather spill my brain out than see it end that way as it would be the utter incarnation of absolute idiotism...(personally, I wish I'd see a sequel to Chrono Cross, but I so much fear they'd use completely new characters, and without any magicka Chrono had, following the FF downfall, that I rather just enjoy CC all over again, and keep them present that way. I don't even support the fanbased work. If you ain't the Chrono Cross staff, you can't make it, and therefore, don't even try. That about sums it upfrom my point of view. as a matter of a fact, Chrono Cross doesn't need a sequel...)

I'm not quite sure what you mean...The only thing that really changes w/Lavos' death is that the planet doesn't get fuct in the future when Lavos would have normally awakened...Everything else that Chrono & Co. makes happen TTI (as in them going in the past to defeat Lavos in the first place isn't erased).

In some other words you could say that they broke the sealbetween destructive Lavos and constructive Entity, if I may use the expression.
