Anyone else think this looks extremely similar to the Incan Ruins in The Illusion of Gaia?

Probably. I doubt alot of people know what i'm talking about due to IoG not being to popular. It's just that I noticed that all the angls of the walls, statues, stairs and doors are exactly the same as in IoG. Could be just a coincidence, or mabye someone who made IoG also worked on CT. Just figured I'd piont it out.

Illusion of Gaia. It's an action RPG/adventure game, kinda like Soleil on Megadrive. It was made by Enix if I recall correctly.

For Super Nintendo, and it comes highly reccomended. I really enjoyed the game when it first came out. Don't expecit anything from it, "This isn't Secret of Mana!" or "This isn't Chrono Trigger!!". Take it as it's own game, and enjoy it for what it is. It gets really good later on.

What the hell?! It does look like something that would be in Illusion of Gaia!! :o I vaguely remember IoG and that does look familiar to a dungeon in IoG.

Question though. Zeal Kingdom has a dungeon? I don't ever recall being in a place that looks like that in Chrono Trigger, let alone Zeal Palace.

There isn't a dungeon in Zeal, this is from the prerelease ROM. Check out the section on it in the encyclopedia for more detail.

EDIT: Hah! Caught it within seconds of posting, so you'll never know. Nyeh.

It's possibly because the Zeal tileset (and the dungeon map design) is pretty generic and the style has probably been used in many games, IoG included.

Yeah, so I'm guessing that Square wanted Chrono Trigger to have its own style and shit. Makes sense really.

Even though it doesn't really add anything to the conversation,

Illusion of Gaia was a fantabulous game. I'm somewhat disappointed that it was never turned into a series of sorts, because I can't think of another RPG/Action RPG that tied together the same elements IoG did.

Actually, there are those who would argue for this series:

(Act Raiser ->) Soul Blazer -> Illusion of Gaia -> Terranigma

Act Raiser's inclusion is iffy, though; it's believed the angel in Act Raiser was the hero of Soul Blazer.

I've heard of Act Raiser and Soul Blazer, but I've never played them. Didn't Act Raiser involve playing as an angel or something?

As for Terranigma, I've never even heard of it. Are these games worth playing and how exactly are they related? Do have the same idea of having a hero who takes on other forms to save the world from evil and so?

Terranigma gets attention from remixers, but I'm not totally sure it had a US release. Doubtless to get that kind of attention, it has been translated (in the event of a Japan only release).

The only RPGs I've ever played are BoF, BoFII, CT, CC, SMRPG, and FF6.
