Chrono Trigger 10 Year Anniversary
« on: December 20, 2004, 03:32:08 am »
As the Event Committee, I suppose we can also plan a celebration or something to commemorate the CT 10 year anniversary, which occurs next year in September. While we will poll the entire site and other forums for ideas, this place will become the formal discussion and execution thread for good ideas we receive. If you have an idea of what we could do, post it up anyway.

Wow...10 years, huh?  I can't believe that CT hasn't died out!  I mean, I bet in 10 years Halo, GTA, and FFX will have all died out, with maybe 3 die-hard fans.  To think that we have a whole website still devoted...Pretty impressive!! :D  :D

Get a bunch of mixers to do a tribute album. Release it on the anniversary, and donate all the proceeds to charity.

I suppose of Chrono Symphonic finishes around March, we can release it in celebration of the Japanese release.

Personally, I'd like to see a Flash cartoon or Rom Hack video of some sort of celebration event. I might could help if it's a rom hack. ;;>_>

Maybe we could start on that whole 'create a real-world Telepod' idea...I think it could really solve a lot of world problems...Heh? Heh? Eh....

Let's just celebrate my birthday! Sept 13 baby! I love Chrono Trigger...

Hello! (No I'm not new here, I swear!)

I have a probable dumb question, why in september? I know/think the American release date was in August, unless I am missing something I sure am confused.

For celebrating, that celebration rom idea would be sweet.

Let's revive this thread...

The anniversary is September 29th, 2005, which falls on a Thursday.  I don't have any ideas at the moment, except for a massive Flash cartoon using the game's graphics, including voice acting and using Chrono Symphonic as a soundtrack.  Yeah, that's huge, and short notice, but it's SOMETHING.  And it might nicely serve in place of a Chrono Trigger movie. :P

Fresh ideas, anyone?

GameFAQs usually gets it right...  They're saying 9/27.  Oh well, anyway.  The more I think about it, the more I think it might not actually be a bad idea to start a series of Flash movies telling the Chrono Trigger storyline in pieces, maybe doing a "chapter" of Chrono Trigger with each release.

"The Millennial Fair," "The Queen Is Gone," "The Trial," etc.  (Notice I omitted "The Queen Is Back" and "We're Back" because they're so short, they'd just blend right into the rest of 'em.)  Thoughts on this? =P  I'd be happy to direct voice-acting or whatever...

The Chrono sites are pretty evenly split between the August and September release dates. Maybe we celebrate both?

A series of flash movies, while being a pretty large undertaking, is not a bad idea. I've often thought the best way to tell the story of CT was in the form of a series. I'd be willing to help.

What sort of skills do you have, Luminaire?  To get the ball rolling, we would need:

Flash animators - would need to be able to insert the separate musical and voice tracks as provided
Graphics people (to rip the sprites needed, custom-make sprites when needed, and provide the settings)
Scripters (to expand on the game's script a bit)
Voice actors - We all know CT has a huge cast, so people who can do multiple unique voices would be a plus, for playing both a major role and a bit part.  Ie, the voice of Magus might also play Fritz, or whatever.

Can anyone think of any other positions we'd need to fill?
