Alrighty, i have to clean up the final two scenes but i spent a LONG time hacking today...i need a break.  The fall of guardia has happened and man it turned out good.

I did a LITTLE bit of tweaking for the final two scenes of guardia fall.  I also did some destroying of Millinial Fair map.  I used alot of the empty tiles in the tileset, but it's possible that othre maps were using those empty tiles (instead of the upper left empty tile).  So if you see those lying around let me know and i'll replace it with the upper left tile.

Just noting that I finished the CGM Chapter polishing. So many maps in that one... It sure took some time. Well at least the next chapter is just one screen so it will clearly be faster. Anyway, I will post the patch tomorrow, after merging my work with the latest version here (so I'm not checking out the ROM just yet). Need some sleep for now...

Yea that chapter is ALOT of maps...and those damn bushes for borders are SO annoying (cause about half way through I'd forget to check for damn priority so it'd be half priority half non-priority).

But you're done with the reptite chapters!!  Trust me it gets better after this, everything is more ...contained in the future chapters.

I've just finished tweaking/updating the Stain of Regency chapter. I said I'd post a patch today, but it's night again...and I haven't imported the 2 chapters into the latest ROM version yet, so I'll be sure to do it tomorrow.

Woah :shock: I've just catched up and played that new Guardia fall chapter. The castle exterior map, the burning Truce cutscene, Dalton's attitude...Everything was fantastic! Great work!


The patch for the CGM Chapter + Chapter 10 now... Things to note:

-I fixed the palette bug in the Strength Contest. It was a tricky one; the "wooden" tiles in the Millennial Fair tileset use a palette that glitches in battle, and I couldn't just change their palette in TF (Palette Shift) since the tileset is also used in Leene Square. However, most of the Millennial Fair tile graphics are included in the Telepod tileset, so I used that instead and it gives a similar result without affecting Leene Square and without graphic hacking. The Telepod Exhibit is also unaffected since it doesn't use these wooden tiles. See screenshot (with stone pillars!).

-I replaced Yaluk in the Strength Contest with Coyopa, since Yaluk is kind of the pacific one in the Xamoltan group.

-Fixed the Smithy event so that he introduces himself even if you defeated all the monsters without speaking to him first.

-Finally implemented the Marle > LR > CGM ordering. Note that I didn't change the storyline flags since they don't cause any bug. The switch in the Dinopolis entrance is kept, and the jail is right before the two-path fork. Sorin blocks the last room in both paths (he's fighting monsters by himself) and you have to see the jail first for him to free up the way.

-I forgot to turn the chests in Dinopolis into events instead of regular chests. Will do that next time.

-Updated both Atash Kedah scenes to have Sorin jump in the Dragon Tooth portal the second time around. I made the Frozen Flame glow red/yellow with Ayla's palette to fix the palette issue, and Sorin also glows red when he catches the Tooth (because he is self-destructing himself). If you warp to the first Atash Kedah scene from the debug room there will still be palette issues, but not during normal gameplay.

Awesome I'm in a mall shopping right now but ill try it out as soon as I'm home. It will be nice to have that palette big off the big list!  I'm glad you liked the fall of guardia you can thank zeality for that awesome outside map. Merry Christmas everyone.

That was great. I'm almost mystified at how well Crimson Echoes is coming together. There are so many nods to Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, references, easter eggs, little scenes...it's really amazing. It's truly a sequel to Chrono Trigger AND an interquel between Trigger and Cross. This is just incredible work.

I made the epoch available before chapter 13 now.  Though I still have it become available through agent 12 giving it to them.  I feel like it's much more viable that belthasar made an epoch in this timeline than the party stored it away in the cathedral for safekeeping.  If everyone is against this let me know.
The dialog during "Double Trouble" still says that the "Epoch II/Neo Epoch" is his next project. So, do you prefer the CT team dismantling their Epoch after their adventure?

We can change the dialogue. I do like the idea of the team destroying their epoch like I said I think its more likely that belthasar made a news epoch than the team hiding it somewhere for 5 years.

I hope everything was okay.

In this new patch, I polished Capter 11 (except the return to Chronopolis). The sense of "war" in 1 A.D. was kind of missing so I added a map and a few battles in it before Marle finds Cedric and Antaeus. I had to use Guard enemies since they're the only human enemies we have, so that means the Porreans now look kind of powerful rather than being poor people in rags. It does fit with the theme of a deluded Cedric though; he's so confident in himself that he doesn't really care that part of his troops are getting killed, since HE is invincible anyway. As for Antaeus, he starts as a Guard sprite and becomes an Omnicrone sprite; I'll just paint his eye black later so he doesn't look like a Mystic cyclops. The sneaky Porrean now attacks Marle instead of Cedric, to make it clear that it's her presence that changes the events.

Also, a few patches ago I moved the scene of the battle from the Holy Lake to a field in southern Zenan. To clarify, this is because setting it in the lake gives the impression that the Porreans are attacking Guardia's territory, when it's really Guardia that invades Porre (southern Zenan). The location is just named "Battlefield" for now but perhaps we can find a better name later.

Good work as usual.

Right now, the Glare of Midnight has a Mystic which uses the Omnicrone sprite.
