We've....spent alot of time on this game. I'm probably embarrassed to say how long i've worked on this game. And honestly, i'm tired.... I don't know how much longer I can go. I come home every day and spend atleast a couple of hours working on the hack. That's not to say i'll leave the community post CE but i'll probably move to working on tools and maybe one more (small) hack. I've made the choice to devote time to this game and it fit rather well into my real life situatoin to devote this much time (after school ended I had alot more free time). But we've pushed back the release alot already, longer than I expected (i thought we'd release a few months ago) and I can't continue to devote this kind of time forever.
Well, I don't want to push the release... I mean it would be ideal, but it's not realistic... It wouldn't be effective at this point. I think the reason is, I just can't work effectively on multiple projects at the same time. This year, schoolwork and other real life projects are taking nearly all my free time and sometimes I don't check the ROM for several days (as you might have deduced from the time it took me just to reply to this topic). So I really appreciate your work and devotion and all the effort you spend on the project (these thousands of bugs...I could never have handled them all). At this point, pushing the release date would just burn out both of us.
To be honest, it's starting to become a kind of chore for me too... Unlike you I think I'll really need to take a long, long "vacation" away from CE-related stuff after the release (topics, feedbacks, etc.), and inevitably from the Compendium and the Chrono community itself too.
But anyway, tomorrow is the weekend, so I'll try to do the ending. Then after that it'll be Chapter 14, and then I'll just beta-test...well, and perhaps do some new graphic/palette hacking here and there also, as I work much faster in Photoshop than in TF.
