Lucca & Luccia? Ayla and Leah? Frog and Glenn (CC)?

Admittedly, I am kind of new to this... I've played through CT once, and CC once, both of which were a few years ago. Only in the last couple weeks have I been playing through them both again and really appreciating them both even more. That being said, I don't remember all the intricacies (sp?) of the storylines of each, and wondered if there are any concrete absolute connections between Lucca & Luccia, or Ayla and Leah, or Frog and Glenn? The only one I think I have heard about is the latter, where I've been told that Glenn has no relation to Frog, but was named after him (being a hero and whatnot).

I believe you're correct on the Glenn/Frog connection. Luccia was a scientific associate of Lucca's, wasn't she? Lucca was able to give Luccia the letter addressed to Kid IIRC. Leah may be Ayla's mom or something, through bizarre time travel occurrences, but don't quote me on that.

I say we do a Luccia -> Lucca patch for Chrono Cross sometime.

In the Japanese version her name is actually Lutianna, not Luccia.

Whoah, didn't know that. Lucca's name was still Lucca though, right? Interesting how the translators made Lutianna's name one letter off from a familiar CT character.

It's interesting that things like these connections come up. It is very obvious that Ayla and Leah have to have a connection, or else the designers merely made their appearances and backgrounds so similar just to mess with out heads. And even if Luccia's name wasn't one letter away from Lucca's, the similarities there are obvious. Both tinkers of sorts that use gun weapons and invent things. And the link between Glenn and Frog... both swordsmen, knights, and both able to pair up with the protagonist for the "X-Strike." I'm sure there are other connections I've missed, too.

Yeah, Lucca was always Lucca...I think Luccia got that way because they prob had to shorten it and decided why not make it a tease/easter egg sorta deal for series fans.

But yeah, I think a lot of it's just nods to the fans...except for the Leah stuff...I don't know wtf they were trying w/that mostly cause I don't know the whole deal there...it's all very vague & undetermined from what I've heard though...

if you read the encyclopedia we learn that luccia was friends with lucca (in fact it was easily seen at the end of the game) leah may be alya's mother. as frog and glenn why don't you just read and find out.

Her animation is throwing darts, but what I was referring to was that her "equip" items are the "Guns," as in the same ones that Doc uses (who also uses some kind of throwing knife) and Norris (who uses an actual gun.)

Uh, her equip is not a gun...Only Norris & Starky use guns. The equipped weapons that Luccia, Doc, Sneff & Harle all use are mostly called "shots"...their alternate weapons are the two card packs & their ultimate "shots" is actually the Prism Pellets. They're all throwing weapons of some kind. I'm guessing blades or ball-bearing/stone (or w/e depending on the material) type projectiles. They're obviously not guns.

I don't think it's possible for Leah and Ayla to have a connection. Ayla lived in 65,000,000 b.c., right? at the end of C.T. you see her still in that time period, so she never traveled to C.C.'s period (i believe it was around 1000 a.d ish, right?) so she couldn't be the mother or grandmother of Leah, who live with her tribe obviously is some isolated area such as Gaeaa's Navel, then moved to G.N. w/father.unless Ayla is a very VERY distant ancestor of Leah, then i don't think they're related. Leah is probably just a recurring character, to keep us C.T fans happy with having another person identical to the C.T. cast.

Uh, the events of CC happen in 1020AD...Leah says something about her tribe disappearing or something and she found herself there or something though...I don't think her tribe is on Gaea's Navel...which is all what leads people to think she must have time traveled to 1020AD from sometime in the past...there's also that ambiguous line about naming her daughter Ayla or w/e...

Kino is the simple minded companion to Chief Ayla of Ioka and has mysterious origins. He was found crying on Mystic Mts and raised by Ayla.
