Did you freak out when you first saw a Lavos Spawn?

My first time through Trigger I nearly flipped out when seeing that little Lavos on Death Peak. I felt Like I was walking by a sleeping Bear. O.o;

Then I fought it and I was like, "This is easy..."

I don't remember too clearly, but couldn't you just avoid that by hitting it's eye instead of it's shell?

yeah, but i didn't know that the first lavos spawn i fought...

I hit the shell, and then I found out that the cursor is automatically placed on it. Kepps you on your toes, it does.

Took me pretty long to figure that one out... many times i hit the shell, then the Spawn launched its counterattack, and all i could say was 'ouch'..

I just got annoyed because Magus could only physically attack...

I didn't "freak out", I mean, it was Death Peak, after all...The first one did take my HP down a bit though because I was used to using multi-targeting Techs...It took me a couple times to see that it's attacks were counters coming from the shell. *shrugs* Was there really enough here to make a topic about...?

I was just curious because when I first saw it, I thought it was actually Lavos. I was just wondering if anybody else had a similar experience. If it's not treally worthy of its own thread, sorry.

if you did a new game+ and got all your characters to their highest levels, had a good amount of healing items and whatnot, would you be able to defeat a lavos spawn by just attacking its shell?

yup.  and you don't have to be uber-high to do so.  i was able to do with my characters somewhere in the 60s range (as in their levels).

I remember my first trek up Death Peak.  I saw a Lavos Spawn and could only think "aww hell..."  After the first counterattack, I tried the mouth instead of the shell, and killed him rather easy.  lol took me by suprise, it did.

Yes, I remember when I first saw him I was in a low Level and he killed me with the fucking needles.
I when I first saw him I thought that he was Lavos... Shit
