Final Fantasy X: Ending definitely made me want to cry....until after the credits that is.

Lost Odyssey: There was definitely a sad moment in that game. Also, a lot of the past stories you read about the main protagonist were very sad. Certainly gave him an edge in character development.

Chrono Trigger: Yeah, the credits did make me very sad....because I didn't want the game to be over.

FF VII: Yeah, I'm one of those people that had that Aerith death scene get to them....Oh well. IT was certainly sad at the time.

FF VI: The scene with Celes was very sad...and such a powerful scene I thought.

FF IX: There was a part with Zidane and his whole self realization of what he was that made him kinda go out of it for a lil' bit. Just that whole scene thinking that he was alone and everything made me pretty sad as well.

God...I know there are more...

Sort of. Everyone knows that Snake is just one of three clones of Big Boss (the other two being Solidus Snake and Liquid Snake). Snake isn't an alien per say, but Big Boss is/was. He fell to earth ages ago and the three snakes are just the results of various experiments conducted under the mad scientist, Doctor Ojoh. Course, as you'll be finding out, Raiden and Snake really are related (but they aren't just the same person). Raiden was injected with Big Boss cells which drove him a bit crazy for a while but it also marks him as the one who can stop Snake. But I've probably said too much already.

Yes, the second almost brought me to tears as well. Zell Dincht is in the springtime of youth.

Azala's death in Chrono Trigger.

I don't remember how I reacted to Aerith's death, But I'm sure I wasn't sad, since my friend who had already beaten the game said to not waste my time on her because she dies.

Dr. Ojoh -  Dr. Hojo? Wtf?

You are thinking of Professor Hojo. There is an important difference between a Professor and a Doctor (or so I am told by Doctors who get offended when I call them Professor).

As far as sad moments in video games:

* SoM, during the final boss (Flamie, Nooooooooo!) and during the ending credits (Sprite, Nooooooooo!)
* FFVI was a good one for emotional moments (no tears though). The Opera Scene, Terra and the orphans, Gau's father, General Leo's sacrifice, etc.

Oh snap!  I forgot about that!  The melody was so haunting, and then when I approached...

BRRREEEENEEEEN!

He was gone.

Crisis Core's 'last battle' and ending make the most moving scenes in a video game I've seen. Hell, the game is emotional enough in almost every scene.

Final Fantasy IX and X's endings.

Chrono Cross's ending got me watery-eyed, not too sure I remember why.

And my earliest one... Link's Awakening. The ending was really moving to me.

The whole segment with the flute playing boy in A Link to the Past.

Agreed. That was really sad...

I cried when Aeris died.

In FFVIII, which nobody has mentioned yet, The ending made me cry.
When Squall was walking around all hopeless, when Rinoa was in the field alone, waiting for him, and when Ellone and Laguna were reunited at her mother's grave, just a real emotional torrent. Not to mention when Rinoa's space helmet breaks.
Definitely have to agree with you there. I knew there were a couple things in FF VIII that made me a lil' teary. But it's been soooo long since I've played the game, that I couldn't really go off of memory.

idk if I'd say this was a "tearjerker", but it was the first time I saw a character physically cry (for any reason), I think, and it was certainly one of the most impactful scenes I can recall from the FF series. The emo boy crys...go figure! lol

I was aching for Aeris to die...couldn't have happened soon enough (and it DIDN'T!)...Seeing Dark Serge stab Kid was far more emotional of a scene than Aeris gettin her come-up-'ns...
