You might be tired of the Subsilver look of this forum. We can now rectify this by adding new styles and templates. I just need ideas. Descriptiveness helpful. We should already plan to do

-All the Chrono Trigger eras
-Magus
-Magus's Lair

For the Magus's Lair, we can use the lit candlestick sprite for forums with new posts, and an extinguished one for ones without. We can virtually make a style on any topic in the Chrono series.

Try out the new style in 'Profile.' I need someone to make buttons for everything in http://www.chronocompendium.com/Forums/templates/Classic/images/lang_english/ . We'll be done then.

I don't mind how the site looks now but a little variety can never hurt. If people don't like the results they can always revert to how it used to look.

We need a really good looking 12,000 B.C.. This is my favorite era and I believe the same holds true for many. I'll try to find time to put up some ideas in the next few days. I do like the classic board style that's already there.

Yeah, Magus' lair would be cool, or something extremely Zealian.

I just hope this simple style stays the standard style...because I usually delete cookies after each use and such...But whatever...Maybe that'll change for me...I've always wanted a "Chrono Trigger System" Style. If you've got the Winamp Skin of the same (or at least similar) name, then you know what I mean...I'll look for a link to the skin in a sec, but I suppose that people here know what I mean. The neat little white boxes, the white-gloved pointer fingers, etc...

That's what the skin looks like, but I guess that doesn't really show the cursor glove pointer...

Although, now that I look at the skin...I'd rather the forums to look more genuinely like the Chrono Trigger System than that skin...

I like V_ Translanka's idea, very much, actually.  If there was some way we could transport that basic design into a forum...

How about this: the current bright blue bars that go across the page would be replaced with the gradiated mottled gray text background.  The light blue/white hues of text boxes would be light grey/white.  All the buttons will be written in the CT font and use icons from the game-- status effects, menu icons, and of course the gloved pointer.  Hmmm, I like the sound of that.

Good idea.  I genuinely concur.

(It's funny cuz CuteLucca's post and signature go together so well!)

I noticed the other day (and maybe this is just on my computer) that on the alternate colour scheme, buttons like "submit" & "preview" were hard to read because they were both gray. (I think)

Might want to look into that. I dunno if those are the same buttons you were talking about earlier.

Those have been fixed; I just need the "New Topic" "MSNM" and such photoshopped. I'd rather not do it, as I don't have much skill at image editing.

If you need photoshopping for the small buttons, I can help out with the full set if you want to make them in the scheme I mentioned above-- or any other scheme, for that matter.

I've been pondering the CT scheme, and the main issue seems to be limited expertise with PHPBB. I'm not quite sure how we can make posts have the CT background, but I do have the CT font, ripped by a visiting member. We'd also have to decide on some colors.

Ramsus is going to look in to the CT theme. In the meantime, these need to be photoshopped, or have new buttons made for them in order to complete the Classic layout. By the way, should I make Classic default, meaning it will display to guests and such as the natural style?

Stuff that needs photoshopping/creation:

Hmm...  that might be all right except for one thing...  I really like the Classic layout (much easier on the eyes late at night than subSilver) but it keeps confusing me because there isn't a noticeable enough difference between the icons for topics with new posts and topics without.  Other than that it's great.

I'll make those flames bigger. Yeah, computer monitors can be like a giant lightbulb; I prefer darker styles.

Whoa...I'm using the Classic layout for the first time...sweet...

Arc Impulse is right.  It IS easier on the eyes when you're tired.  One thing I liked about subSilver was that it was really easy to find which posts you haven't looked at yet.  In this layout, you sort of have to find the different sprite (granted, they're at the top of the list).
