Chrono Trigger DS updates
« on: July 06, 2008, 01:26:55 pm »
Square-Enix launched a new Chrono Trigger DS site today featuring the following trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/v/a2Au0Vmu8yg&hl=en&fs=1

You can also download a low-quality 5MB version here

It looks as though the DS version might be just a port, with added multiplayer features for the minigames, a new dungeon, and other small additions, but the only definitive information as of yet is available on the official site after watching the video.

Please stay tuned for Chrono community news after the break.

As dandy as that is, it shows literally nothing new.

As happy as I am to see a video, I am disapointed that it only shows the sprites and characters. I was kinda hoping for a small preview, not a teaser. Oh well, I'm sure there will be another trailer with clips from the game. :D

Let us not give up hope, kids! Let us not stop dreaming!

Imagine this is just the beginning of a new age!

(indeed, now I'm desperate for something new and surprisingly awesome coming by the end of this year)

So, imagine it's 1995 again?

Back to the age of offline gaming, Windows 95, and mediocre technology.....Oh! And the golden age of anime

I'm curious with the 1~4 players... How it will be? Jetbike for 4 players?

And if this will be only a port with some adds, why they're waiting to show us some of the game itself?

I hate to fuel speculation, but the gameplay in the trailer from the official site (i.e. the video above) doesn't have any of the battle overlays present, suggesting they've been moved somewhere... like a second screen.

This is spected, I think... The battles and menu will use the stylus, and will be positioned in the above nds screen, I guess...

I thought it was kind of interesting that they chose to use only the original Toriyama artwork instead of the newer TOEI character portraits. *crosses fingers for new anime and/or "manga" sequences*

As for the multi-player...I'm sure the Millennial Fair will be expanded...Maybe Lucca will have other robots to fight! Or Norstein Beckler will have more creepy crap for you to do. Maybe the concert stage will let you play music from the game (seems reasonable enough, right?). I always thought it was kind of a small fairgrounds to celebrate 1000 years...>_>

It's really depressing that they didn't update anything at all...

Maybe someone whose more intelligent than me can help. But I did the low quality download, but I can't seem to get any video from it. I run it through Windows Player and the weird graphicy thing runs. All sound and no picture? HELP!
