Saturday I worked at a Habitat for Humanity location. Cutting siding, mostly, because for some strange reason I was the only one who wasn't afraid to do so (I think people were more afraid of their unskilled work being so apparent, rather than that they were afraid of injury). I like manual labor. There is a special satisfaction one gets from quality work like that. Sure, there are some areas where I hope they calking will be able to hide my hideous mistakes, but then there were some sections that were so well cut that they barely need sealing. Curiously, I now want to go read "A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich" again.
