It extracts just fine with WinRAR. On a related note -- Mario's in this? Oooh, and Barubary from Breath of Fire II. Fascinating. I might have to play this just to see how it all works out.
That's the type of fan games I consider redundant, a surplus made driven by some inner desires that do not follow any respectable rule, and I do, before everything, first show respect to the made theme, and then work by following it - not cracking it. That's why I hope retards from Squarenix will never ever consider remaking (since they already can't make a game) or creating a sequel either to CT or, god forbid, CC, because it really would just ruin the magic.
While I agree with your point somewhat, I have to say I hate unrelenting fanboys who think that a sequel or something "ruins" the original. As if the original is overwritten or erased from existence just because they decide to expand upon the series. It's ridiculous. If you like the original more than the sequel, guess what? The original will always be available in all its glory for you. All that changes are your own retard perceptions of how things should be.
The sequel ruins if done badly (eg. Deus ex 2 to Deus ex, Fallout 3 to Fallout 2...). Now speaking for myself, back then I was very, very pleased with Chrono Trigger. Chrono Cross, the sequel, took my breath away. Right people did the right thing in the right moment at the right time. That's why it is good. However, with people at disposal today, making a sequel would ruin it. No, it would not ruin "original", it would ruin the TITLE, the very game. That, from my perspective, is non-discussable, and the arguments are all around. You see, perhaps a person has every right to expand the title, and perhaps gamers have every right to play whatever is given to them, but there are also people who see particular creations of art in a very different light. In my words, "some things should not be touched again". It's the same feeling like the one when you play a game, and decide to cheat. A cheap trill at first, but then it leads to gameplay being ruined for you. Instead having fun, the game is ruined. For example, if someone someday would make a sequel to Man from Earth, Unbreakable or Fifth Element. Or a Book sequel (which was not meant at all) to The Farm. Movie/book can be who knows what, but it simply is not that title anymore (unless the very same people with the very same passion and interest do it) - it's some kind of sequel that bends the original's divine, perfect self. Productions change, results change, and these results have nothing to do with the title that once was.
Fanbased games go beyond - while a good company does something to please majority, home-made work does something to please themselves, ultimately missing the title.
