OMG they look amazing!

Zeality and Vehek's criticism for Robo is valid though. The bottom of his belly looks like it's at a horizontal angle, whereas the black cylinder in his back looks much more angled. This perspective isn't really bad in itself, but it makes the portrait stand out compared to the other ones (which have a more simple perspective).

Still awesome though.

Thanks for the comments everyone.  Robo will very likely be redone.

In the meantime, here's Ayla:

I like everything on Ayla except the lips.  Is that her tail around her neck I see there because if so that is a great idea!

EDIT: I should give a little more detail, I'd say they are a bit too big/puffy maybe it's just me though? I'll let others comment

She's baring her teeth, yeah, but perhaps the heighth of the opening of your mouth can be decreased a little, so the shape appears thinner. Other than that, wow.

Ohh!! I didn't realize it was her teeth haha.  I thought it was big poofy lips with like....the glare of light reflecting off them.

That's my bad maybe it's more obvious in the game.  Though now that I know what I'm looking for it's pretty obvious....whoops.

I have to admit that I also thought it was her over-collagenized lips at first too. The rest of Ayla looks superb though.

Thanks for the comments.  Yep, that's her tail around her neck, jsondag.

I have to strain a bit to see why the teeth look like lips, but I do see it.  Maybe this is better:

Otherwise we could go with the smile, but I feel the teeth add a bit more character:

Love the new version, personally. I think it lends her sort of a mischievous look.

I don't mean to add more work to the table, but perhaps a mischievous smile with bared teeth? A sort of hybrid of both?

I do like the smile...

But honestly Darkken I feel like you should get what you want here you've gone above and beyond my wildest expectations with both of the Ayla's above.  The teeth looking like lips may not be as noticeable in game either? FW, maybe you can use your portrait inserting magic to toss both of the images in (you can replace two portraits with ayla this is just a test not for the actual official CE patch) so we can compare side by side?

Zeality's idea might be a good compromise as well but nothing to get burnt out over.

Thanks, I appreciate that.  But to be honest I'm not actually advocating the teeth over the smile, I just think that with all the other human PCs already smiling a change would be nice.  Using any one of them would be fine by me, I'm just trying to have one that the majority of us will like.

Anyway, here's one that's a bit of a mix:

Effing priceless! json and ZeaLitY & '99, I can insert any combination of these that you wish, though I think Darkken's hit the mark here.

....i love it...

FW, we can wait for zeality/99's input. We may have an overwhelming majority after Darkken's latest post.

Wow, she looks fantastic. Much better than Toriyama's design lol. If there would be one more thing to do to make it absolutely perfect, I think it would be to show a little bit of her right eyebrow. Currently it looks a bit like there's nothing but skin under her streak of hair, although it's a really minor detail.
