1st day sales of Chrono Trigger DS in japan
« on: November 21, 2008, 06:27:19 pm »
Chrono Trigger hit #1 on it's first day selling 176,000 copies just in the first day alone, beating out #2 and #3 Animal Crossing Wii.. #2 without wii speak, and #3 With wii speak, which total to be about 1000 less than Chrono Trigger, and #4 was the Unreal 3 engine Square Game, The last Remnant. selling 79,000 copies.

Let's see the whole week total, for japan, and see how well it does in the US.

I can't say I follow the game charts in Japan, but I am glad that it took the number one spot.  Hopefully the game will have longevity, and will continue to sell loads.

That's good news. Now, what's gonna cement CT's status will be how long it stays high in the charts and how well it sells in the US.

I get the feeling it'll sell better in the US.

Really?  I don't think it will be THAT good... but let's hope it is!  AND BETTER!

EVERYONE BUY IT.

EVERYONE BUY IT.
correction:
EVERYONE BUY IT TWICE. OR ELSE.

the "else" being the dual threat of Lavos eating you and Chrono Break not getting made.

Also, I think the reason Pyt thinks it will sell better in the US is because the US has more people.  Let's hope so.

Now I just have PS3 and one handheld...

However, that all may change very soon. It thought about a PSP or a DS to join my old GBA, and now that Chrono Trigger DS is out, I might just want to get it for just that reason and that only... These brand new features have wet my apetitite.

Even though I have the original SNES version and the PS1 remake, something is drawing me to buy this now. (could be teh entity)

Maybe they are saving the CT franchise for when Final Fantasy finally dies. (my guess is after XVI lol).
No sense in running two series into the ground at the same time. If thats the case, we'll at least get some teaser remake of ct/cc every few years  =)

glad the sales are high.

Final Fantasy will never die, simply b/c mentioning the irony of the word "Final" in the title is equal to Dividing By Zero.

Wait. Oh, shi

I remember there was a time it was really going to be THE Final Fantasy.

The very first one. Have you ever wondered why it was called that in the first place?
