Also, thanks to Fausty for importing the tiles for it and setting it up correctly.  Could NOT have done it without him.

Edit: I don't think Star Stealing girl would work.  It's too slow.  It'd work if it was more up beat and epic sounding.

Really? I though it was too fast--and that it lacked a level of despair and devastation. The song has to sound like one that would play when you didn't want to win. Like in the Miguel fight, from CC. You hear that sad, devastating theme, but you keep fighting, knowing that in the end you have to defeat this man, whether you want to or not.

Star Stealing Girl wouldn't make much sense with Schala though.  Doesn't quite fit her.

Didja guys notice that justin actually redesigned the Dream Devourer? It has a more compact, sleeker look than Lavos' shell to reflect its evolution into an ever smaller creature.

The Dream Devourer battle reminds me of "Le Ali del Principio" from Baten Kaitos. Obviously the choir would have to be replaced with something else, but I can't find a MIDI of it to save my life.

You may also wish to toss Madruk's Theme from Dragon Force into consideration (first minute or so of that video). I was seriously considering this one when I made a Youtube video of the Dream Devourer battle and wanted different music.

Far more easy to replicate, however, would be Apostle of an Evil God, but it might not have quite the right vibe to it.

Not sure how it would sound in MIDI, but I was also seriously considering The Phoenix boss battle theme from Ehrgeiz.

I've been watching this thread for a long while now, and I have to say what's happening here is AWESOME. Like I said in a comment for Justin's vids: This should have been in CTDS. Freakin Epic, guys. Everyone who contributed deserves a medal of somekind. Kudos.

DD is rapidly becoming one of my favorite bosses, and I love redesign. In fact, I'll say it again, THAT should have been in CTDS. Anyways, I was thinking this for the DD fight.

It's the final boss fight from Megaman X5. It's starts off pretty menacing and then it just picks up, like you realize what exactly you're in for: a dreadful battle. It's exactly what I felt when I first fought DD.

Aye, with the right instrumentation, that could be the one. And I didn't realize you tweaked the DD sprite, Justin, I haven't played CTDS, but that sprite looks quite professional and fuckin' spectacular. I compared it to the original DD sprite, and I gotta say I like yours more.

I 'think' I found the animation data for it now.  So Schala should be able to be animated with 6 frames now if I can set everything up right.

Edit: 3 frames are done.  There's no more room in Lavos's data to add more frames, but I'm not sure if by compressing another huge frame set right under it that it'll pick it up..Guess it's time to find out.

Edit 2: Expanded the file holding Schala's graphics and re-compressed to test, it works =D!  I believe in a half an hour or so, her entire DD animation floaty thing will be done.  Size 5 SA is rather gay to work with.  80 bytes just for 1 sprite, sheesh.

Edit 3: Schala DD animation is all done now
