CTDS dialog translation to SNES CT?
« on: November 24, 2008, 06:51:00 pm »
Sorry, I think this has been talked about, but in my search I found I could have stepped foot into spoiler land so I decided to make a topic.

Would it be cool if we had the CTDS translation in CTSNES?
Most of it is probably possible to do right?

Why would anyone want to do that?

Frogs accent is so awesome that it deserves a retranslation solely  for  his sake.

Actually it didn't even bother me. His "accent" was removed but he still kinda talked in the same honorable way.

I personally am glad they took out the Shakespeare accent. It was hard trying to portray his lines without the accent when I was imagining the original Chrono Flux (a story I wrote based on the events of CTSF).

I'm glad they got rid of his accent.  It made his speech much better to read.

Do we know if the Japanese CTDS script is any different from the original Japanese script? Y'know, besides the added content stuff anyways, of course...>_>

If it is, it would be cool to get a CTDS retranslation.

Seconded. I'm already reading the SNES retranslation.

I'd like to help in anyway possible, I have a tad bit of experience editing character portraits  :)
But I can do anything I try at, proof reading would be fine for me, actually adding text as soon as I learn how...
Or I'll type the script out so someone else can add it to the snes rom.
I just need to know a little about the process (Like how to log who is saying what and when?)

So yea, lemme know, PM or here.

Can you make portraits from scratch?

Wait what?  Why do we need character portraits?

Well, I could use one that isn't originally from CT or CC.

And by that I actually mean the mugshots when on the Status Subscreen.

Yea, I've made a character portrait from scratch, using the handy dandy tutorial, but much of my experience is in modding the one already there, but... I'll take a wack at it, which pic do you want done? Is this going to go into another translation project like the one this topic is about? ...I should learn the DS CT translators name so I sound more professional... was it scabby? skatzy?

Tom Slattery did the new translation of Chrono Trigger for the DS.
