Crono's Japanese version name is 'Chrono', and the developers are Japanese. I'd say that might be why, but yeah, could be a typo.

Well, there is talk that the US version will let you name charcter with more than 5 letters, according to a source on a gaming site a few months back.. so it may be where you can name him Chrono.

He gave 1999 A.D. a full map. It looks like 600 A.D. except with domes and environmental aspects from 1000 A.D. It appears that Lavos surfaced on Medina Continent around where Magus Castle and Heckran Cave used to be.
