There is no reference in any Chrono Trigger or Cross script about the blue hair in Zeal. Rumor is officially killed.

An admin doesn't really mean anything in that light, dude.  I mean, they are admins, sure, but they aren't gods, nor do they always have all the answers.  They are humans.  Not robots.  They are allies.  Not enemies.  They just are.

No he's not...There are plenty of males in the Laruba village with blue hair...hell, the elder himself has blue hair!

The Larubans have more purplish hair, but even if you say it is blue enough for there to be a genetic link between them, Janus was the only male in his time period with blue hair.

The Laruban hair was a bit more purple, that's true, but what do you mean he's the only male in his period with blue hair? I hope you don't mean time period--if you're talking about Zeal, Gaspar's Zeal form has blue hair as well, although the other Gurus (and Gaspar at the EoT) seem to have grayish hair.

Looking at the sprites for Queen Zeal, you'll see that her hair is actually a bit more purple than blue. Of course, I don't consider the sprite palettes all that accurate anyway, but take a look and you'll see more purple hues than blue.

I think it's more because Kid's hair wasn't blue in Cross, but w/e...Close enough for government work...
