Prism Helm

Prism Helm is supposed to protects status. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I recall them doing that in Chrono Trigger SNES. They don't seem to do that on DS. I've gotten chaos, stop, slow, poison, and sap while wearing those.

Def. +9/Lock Status on SNES version.  So yes, it should protect from all status effects.

Certain boss(es) can remove status immunity.

Okay. Well, that sucks. It kind of defeats the purpose of them having status immunity.

Maybe only Lavos and Dream Devourer can do that, and the target is just randomly choosen.
If you don't play a low level challenge, it won't be a serious problem since you can take him down quite soon.
