Hmm, maybe your keyboard can't support more than 2 keys pressed simultaneously？
lol, but that's quite rare.

B --- D
X --- W
Y --- S

LEFT --- J
RIGHT --- L

DOWN --- K

I had the same problem...i changed the configuration (A-C) and it worked for me.

i got it to work =p
i changed some keys
Ctrl as L, Alt as R and Shift as A =p

(and yes my keyboard dont recognize 3 normal keys or more)

I remember that in the SNES version, you couldn't enter the password until you caught the rat. And since you have to fight the Guardian+Bits and get the Seeds before you can chase the rat, there would be no point in entering the password as Lucca will simply say that you need the password to get in.

Holding L and R and interacting with the machine via touchscreen is an easy workaround. Helped me.

i killed the guardian before =p
for history-line  porpuses

and then i was trying to use the code =p

No, you cannot, but for keyboards that can't handle LRA, using the touchscreen helps.
