I just fought him, you don't get exp or Tech points. Just his reward kits.

Definitely Geno Dome as well as charming Power Tabs and other Tabs like crazy on the Black Omen. No better ways than those. You'll have near invincible characters in a couple of hours.

The Dimensional Vortex is the best place to build up your characters, IMO. Especially the ice area in the 12,000 B.C. vortex. That's where I usually run into the Wonder Rock (10,000 EXP!).

I hate grinding.

I did all the side quests, including the Distortions and Lost Sanctum, i believe i got to level 65ish, and i never once used a speed or strength tab ( i think i had 10 speeds and 16 strengths by games end).

I had no problem with lavos, i had no problem with dream devourer, and with the right items i had almost no problems taking Crono one versus one to lavos for the dev ending.

Given how high levels can go, the Dream Devourer shouldn't be a problem. Plus, have we ever done the other characters solo against Lavos, even for the Developer's Ending? I know Crono and Magus have done it, but what about the other five?

(Look at the text under my avatar for why I posted this.)

When trying to earn tech points, I normally find those eye trio things in the black omen helpful (can't remember the name off the top of my head). The mini ones are worth 100 tech points each. Normally I have most of the techs by then though.

In the 1,000 A.D. Dimensional Vortex, one of the random areas that appears is, in fact, the Geno Dome conveyer belt. Another one is the Black Omen room with the four Aliens (now called "Ghaj"), which means you can keep re-doing the place and Charming Magic Capsules to your heart's content. :D

Ah, yeah, the Present Vortex is full of good stuff... Also, there are "Red Ghaj" in there that give out a pretty decent 2300 exp. On the first screen of the magma cavern place, after you make the "bridge", just keep going on the bridge, off the screen, and back to grind the Red Ghaj that appears there. It appears every time, unlike those annoying Wonder Rocks. And besides, you only have to fight, what, 4-5 to get about as much exp as you would if you fought a Wonder Rock? Wonder Rocks just have such a low spawning rate that it's a better idea to just farm Red Ghaj instead.

The Antiqity Vortex isn't bad either. There's a spawning point for Wonder Rocks in the Singing Mountain area, (if you're lucky) and the Snowbeasts there give out lots of exp too... I prefer the Present Vortex, though.

I always found the best method to be on Mt. Woe. As soon as you enter the third screen, 3 Blood Yoke and a Macabre attack you. One Target-All and they all go down, the fight is rather quick. The rewards are something like 22 TP and 1500 EXP, plus, each fight nets you an Ether, which makes the fight sustainable.

Edit: Apparently World of Warcraft has in fact altered my vocabulary. I shudder at the thought.

What's an AOE?

It stands for area of effect, which is a common term in many mmorpgs.
