I went inside and crumbled up the lyrics to the songs they were singing.

Didn't that piss them off?

Sure it did, but teaflower fought them all off in an epic battle that ended in an explosion and her walking away from a crater where they had been singing.

Probably.

Oh, maybe I should chime in and say it's really cold here too... Nothing that I can't handle by keeping a jumper or coat on, anyway. No snow, but we usually don't get any anyway... And we've had shifting times of snow over the past few years, like once in say, March, and another in like, September.

I feel bad for you guys having to drive through tons of the stuff.

They didn't see me crumble it up. But I can imagine just blowing them up, along with that stupid baby the teacher brings with her to school ALL the time. It's ridiculous, man! We don't need a baby shrieking while we're doing calculus and stuff! Ugh!

As much as I say I love the baby creatures, I can do without them shrieking at me so that I can take their poop off their asses and wake up in the middle of the night to have them want food.

The thing is I don't know if she's a teacher or not. She's here most of the time, but whenever I see her she's smiling stupidly as people flock over her baby. I'm pretty sure she's a sub, though.

I'm in Denton to get my Master's degree until the end of 2009. God, that city is fucking ugly. It's like they took Sim City and dumped in residential, industrial, and commercial zones like sprinkles over rotting ice cream, then cordoned it all off with traffic-jamfest Loop 288. I want the hell out of Texas.

Funny that we're all so close. My student peers are all so predictable. They want a big job in Dallas so they can make a bunch of money and own a McMansion. What an American dream.

No kidding? Small world. What are the odds of that I wonder? You go to UNT I'm assuming? I just graduated from there with a BS degree in Biochemistry and I can't find a job anywhere related to that field. The worst part about it is I missed out on applying to medical school in the fall because I was working so hard on an honor's thesis and so now I have to take two years off before I can go back to school (since you apply a year in advance). So now I'm stuck in this shithole town for longer than I was planning on it.

And for those of you that don't know what Loop 288 is (as in everyone except for me, Zeality, and mav probably), it is the biggest traffic clusterfuck in the universe. It's like they started doing road work to expand it years ago, but it is proceeding at the pace of a snail, and traffic is bottle-necked into one lane, which subsequently backs up traffic all the way to the service road and then onto the highway from the exit ramp.

 Can't say I've had the pleasure of visiting Denton. Convenient, too, as 'Denton' is spanish for 'buck-toothed'.

I had never heard this before so I asked my mexican girlfriend. And she informs me that it's actually "dienton" - derived from diente for "teeth" and the suffix ton for "large" (like tote).

Denton used to have going for it a fairly decent underground music scene, but that has staled in recent years and there are no good bands anymore. Now there's nothing to do except go to lame parties or the movies.

Today I saw a man driving out on the icy roads, no chains, no winter tires, his wheels spinning in a desperate and nearly vain attempt to gain traction. He was chatting on his cell phone the whole time.

Yeah. I'm taking a difficult load for a graduate student, but I'll probably pull it off if there are no schedule conflicts in my last semester.

God, it'd help if all the chain restaurants and stores weren't off Loop 288 or I-35. What a nightmare. And yeah, seems like the scene is almost nothing but metal (with a big chance of sucking) and Christian metal.

I mostly just go to Lewisville if I'm gonna go out for dinner. It's less of a pain in the ass.

It depends on what kind of music you like, but there are some very good indie bands that come through denton. There's at least one really good show every few months or so. And often some good bands from austin will come up. Awhile back, one of my favorite bands ever - The King Khan and BBQ Show - came through town at Rubber Gloves. Often there are still some pretty good shows to see. But it's nowhere near like how it used to be a few years ago. Hugely popular underground rock and punk bands like the Marked Men and the Riverboat Gamblers drove a large amount of very good shows into town. Almost every weekend there were awesome shows. But all that's died down now and we're left with shitty metal bands and extremely crappy hipster indie garage rock bands.

Hey everyone just wanted to let you know I made it back to IL safely only had a 2 hours delay :)  I dont mind snow at all, I just got spoiled by the road cleaning crews here in IL who are doing everything but like...catching the snowballs in their hands before they can touch the roads.

Just rain? Ha. We have a forecast for FREEZING rain, and that's coming down on the snow that still needs to be plowed. What's worse is this kind of snow isn't snowball worthy. It's too light and fluffy. Grr. If you have to screw us over, Mother Nature, at least make the mess fun to play with!

I'm glad you're not dead. if you were, I'd have ANOTHER dead guy on my conscious.
I like some metal, but my favorite music is SNES RPG music, lol.
