Harle Papercraft at Kaizo Papercraft, too! Lastly, we've got ChronoWeapon's
A Prehistoric Thanksgiving and
A Bright Christmas in the Dark Ages.
BIG NEWS >>> [1] Yasunori Mitsuda's website,
Procyon-Studio, has released a preview track for the near-mythical Chrono Cross Arrange Album. The song featured is
A Narrow Space Between Dimensions, and my, is it dreamy! Thanks to Joey for this heads up.
[2] GlitterBerri has completed translating the Chrono Trigger: The Perfect interview with Hironobu Sakaguchi and Yuji Horii; find it
here. This is the best Christmas gift the Compendium could have asked for, and I'm extremely thankful! The final pages teach us that yes, Horii seemingly made the Marle Paradox; Toriyama created Frog; CT's events were a little difficult to navigate before some tweaking; Chrono Trigger was originally planned for Q4 1994 release; and Sakaguchi and Horii thought, at the time, that a Chrono Trigger sequel should capture perfectly "the sense of dancing you get from exploring Toriyama's worlds." Make what you will of that! But give a HUGE round of applause to GlitterBerri! This...RULES!! GlitterBerri's blog is
here.
CT DS >>> [1] The 2SF soundtrack to Chrono Trigger DS is now out (think SPCs, except for DS games). Grab the rip
here and the Winamp plugin
here. I haven't added this to the encyclopedia yet, sadly.
[2] For whatever reason, Gamestop has a hilariously surreal description of Chrono Trigger. It's still up; check it
here. If it goes down, you can see a screenshot
here.
[3] Radical_Dreamer reports that loading a saved game at the End of Time may sometimes stick the player in the wall, disallowing movement and forcing a new game.
RADICAL DREAMERS >>> utunnels has been independently retranslating interesting parts of Radical Dreamers, sometimes discovering a different picture of the characters and events than what Demiforce showed us. This work has led to a new article,
Radical Dreamers Translation Differences. Check it out!
CHRONO TRIGGER >>> [1] In an interview with
Original Sound Version, Yasunori Mitsuda disclaimed prior knowledge of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" in the composition of Robo's theme. There you go. Let us never speak of this again unless as a legitimate Rickrolling.
[2] Rio Rock has alerted the Chrono community to the existence of an OAV-themed manga published in V-Jump in 1996 and 1997. It was collected as a tankobon, but it's apparently out of print. I've set up an encyclpoedia page for it
here with three pages and a link to the OOP tankobon on Amazon, both from Rio Rock.
[3] Geiger has released bugfix version 3.02 of Temporal Flux; grab it
here.
[4] Vehek has released a new beta version of his tutorial for converting MIDI to SPC through Romancing SaGa 3 (whose SPCs can, in turn, be imported to Chrono Trigger). Find it
here. This is a promising development for Chrono Trigger ROM hacking; track its progress in
this thread. Sadly, JCE3000GT and his website have mysteriously disappeared.
FAN STUFF >>> [1] Check the Remix Watch on the right sidebar for a load of new remixes.
[2] Straafe has made a fake trailer for a new Chrono game using his famous Robo model. Download it
here and prepare to be amazed!
[3] That Guy with the Glasses recently reviewed Chrono Cross; find his take
here.

[5] Fan project forums are now moved after one month of inactivity to a stalled and abandoned parent forum. This will help unclutter the fan project forum category of the site. Once activity resumes, the forums are moved back into the main project category.
That wraps up the holiday update! Enjoying the new layout? Be sure to provide feedback! The Chrono Trigger DS page still needs a lot of updating, but everything will be taken care of. Be well and safe! And for goodness's sake, buy Chrono Trigger DS! [hidden]
MEGA-UPDATES FOR THE WINSeriously though, I feel like my life is a lie...like Chrono Trigger ultimately is nothing more than a double-episode of Dragon Ball Z. Toriyama's influence was overbearing. We probably dodged a gigantic bullet of Toriyama with Chrono Cross considering that the project was given to Tanaka and Kato.[/hidden]
