I've just registered and already noticed that A LOT of threads end up becoming a little warzone between Darkman, teaflower and HyperNerd (even my first thread! ). You guys should really come to an understanding.
We should all follow chrono eric's peaceful example of how to behave on an internet forum, which is by not forgetting that it's only an internet forum!

Eric's a good man. He introduced me to the works of Alex Grey. I thought those were kickass. HyperNerd's pretty funny, but often forgets to note who he's directing stuff at. (No offense, Nerd, but I do remember when I screwed up by thinking you were clearing your throat in my direction.)

So what its an internet forum, that is the kind of excuses that allow this behavior. A forum is just another form of communication no different for a town hall, bar, library or telephone network. Certain rule need to be followed as well as a level of social edict and respect.

Exactly. So politely tell Shadow that he is crossing the line, and try not to escalate the disagreement because as you have so astutely pointed out:

With the primary exception that in all of these cases except for an internet forum, an escalating angry argument is not so god damned passive aggressive.

Especially at a bar. At least angry arguments there get immediate results.

Have you noticed that Shadow and Teaflower are my two biggest friends on this website? I have of lot of other friends, such as Temporal Knight, Captain B, Princess Schala Zeal, Jutty, chronoEric, Eket and you Hammer, among others. (Pretty much everyone in the RP section) Apperently I have a curse in my life where my two best friends argue to death. Even my two best friends in the outside world argue!! Although most of Teaflowers posts against Darkman are correct, and you Should Really look at those, Shadow.

Try being a Teachers son and being hated by everyone at your school, and your only friends are incredibly intelligent Middle Schoolers and Freshmen who Like to call themselves a bunch of Nerds, and your only salvation is Online forums and RPG's that immerse you into a Fake world with great art, great story, and great music. I had this problem during my "awkward" years when I was in high school all zit-faced and what-not. So you know what I did? Taught myself how to play guitar. Really badass like. And then I started a band for the sole purpose of getting girls. And you know what? It worked.

I came to the conclusion that girls like guys that are really fucking badass at something, be it football, guitar, whatever. Because people like winners. And girls wanna lay winners. It's the cycle of the world.

So it doesn't matter if you're really nerdy and into RPGs (and in my case, science) - because as long as you're still really badass at something, you are champion.

Just make sure that something that you are badass at is cool though otherwise my whole rant right there doesn't work out too well.

I do know how to play Electric guitar, but everyone at my school hates me so much I can't get a band together. It doesn't help that the lowest grade I've gotten is a B, and I love Science, History, and English to death. And I want to Program video games/ be an engineer.

Also, the school I go to now is different form the one my best friends go to. At my new school my best friend's parents don't want him to play video games, so we always end up talking about FFVI, which is the only RPG he's ever played and he's barely even halfway through.

Man, you've got it rough buddy. But ride it out and things will get better. In college nobody gives a shit who you are and you'll be everyone's friend.

In fact, in college people flock to you if you're a nerd and really good at school because they need to pass their classes or they will be screwed for life. Intelligence is appreciated eventually. Count yourself lucky that you are unique among the idiot masses. I know it doesn't seem that way now, but it's the truth.

Hmph, try having a single-digit grade in the subject you're supposed to be best at (Math for me, I'm taking Advanced Functions And Modeling this semester and my grade is around 08/100). I think I went a little crazy when I envisioned my mom's reaction.

Yup, if I didn't know that, I would be a Freakin' Emo. My best Friend's Mom endured the same crap, and now they own one of the Biggest houses in my neighborhood.
Collage shall be awesome. High school can't be Quite as bad as Middle School though, Ugh.

Another thing- I can count that everyone who plays RPG's are intelligent, unlike on GameFAQs, Idiots are minamal here.

OMG Dragon Quest IV is badass IMO for some reason.
