These are a couple of pics of me playing with my old band, Miyamoto. You get to see one of my 7-strings in these pics too! We have videos on Youtube, here's a link to my favorite one, a song that I wrote everything for besides lyrics.

Oh my God lol. I have worn that damned hoodie to where it's just a rag now. It got holes all in it and stuff, and I ended up cutting the sleeves off. But I love it. It's my Zelda hoodie.

Man...I'd do the saaaaaame thing.  How can you go wrong with a Zelda hoodie?  You can't.  It's a Legend of Zelda HOODIE.  How is that not perfection?

It's like the coolest thing every to be in a band! I always wish I could be in a rock band. I would want to play the bass!

My friend who owns a camera keeps dropping the ball with that, so the drum video must wait.  But I figured that I'd update the flock!   :D

This would be Apple Finnegan, thinks that he's in charge of the babies.  Is, in fact, not in charge.  Believed to be male.  Sex not yet determined.  Second largest baby.

This is Drunky.  Earned the name by constantly falling asleep in the food, no matter how many times we moved her out of it.  Believed to be female.  Sex not yet determined.  Smallest baby.

Hen Solo.  Does her own thing, not afraid to venture away from the pack, calm yet obstinate.  Believed to be female.  Sex not yet determined.  Undeniably cute.  Second smallest baby.

This is...That Guy.  That Guy is quite frankly...that guy.  Sex unknown, in charge of the babies due to being the largest.  Refused to sit still for a photo.  My personal fave (shhhhh!).  And yea, that's Sweet B running to...somewhere for some reason in the background...

That Guy with Sweet Beatrice Russell, who survives her late "sister" Lady Ewok and some of the other babies who didn't make it...which was a heartbreaker.  But with some you could just tell; we had to try and splint some legs, but they still just gave out.  So it goes.

We still have Special Agent Fitzhugh because he hasn't started crowing yet.  It's coming, though.  He is MASSIVE now, but is busy dustbathing in bushesso I won't bother him for a photo.  The rest of the photos are all from today.

What do you do when it's clear that one of the flock won't make it? Do you put them down? Do you let them die naturally? I know that people can be very particular about doing it one way or the other for their pets, whereas in places like the horse world it's pretty universally slanted in one direction, but I admit I don't know much about how it goes with chickens.

Curious aside: I was eating a huge turkey drumstick when I read yer post...don't tell the cheepsters!

Haha my brother give me a ton of shit because I have pet chickens but I eat a TON of chicken.  I just hide now when I do  8).  As far as the chicks that don't make it, it dependss on the behavior.  If a chick is just sleepy all the time, but can still move around, we boost it with some extra vitamins and such.  Then we just let them be.  What usually happens is they just slepp and sleep and sleep and then don't wake up.  This happened with Blue Monsoon and Fat Faced Rhonda.

In the case of the packing peanuts, we would put them down.  Two at a time every few days.  They stopped warming the other babies, were hogging the food, and were becoming more cute by the day.  But we knew we can't keep any of them because they're all males.  Fitz was our first chicken and has gone through EVERYTHING.  He stays until he crows.  Then he might stay some more, we'll see .

Chipper Jones and another unnamed baby and a peanut all had bum legs.  The peanut was put down right away, the unnamed baby died within an hour, and Chipper fought and fought and fought till he could fight no more.  Then he began to suffer so we put him down.  We contain the chicks and freeze them.  There is a struggle, but they pass out before they freeze to death.  We know the chick are suffering if the others are just walking all over them.  This was the case with Buck Sagebrush and Chip.  The other chickens would march all over them and they would do nothing about it.  I personally watched Buck suffer and spaz as his heart gave out, and I didn't want to do that again with Chip.  So when he stopped caring about getting stepped on, we put him down.

Yeah, I guess that's the best way to go about it.

I wonder why so many people feel so differently when it comes to humans. But I suppose that's outside the realm of the Pictures topic...

Sounds like chicks have it really rough.  When I observed rat litters from the time they were newborns to adulthood, I only witnessed a handful of deaths, I think only 3 or 4, out of dozens and dozens of kittens (baby rats), probably numbering 60 total.  Is there a reason why the chicks have it harder?  Or is the ratio actually roughly the same?  I've been trying to keep a tally but I'm probably off.

Just a few. So you don't forget my mug!
Somebody asked me if I was Amish a few days ago cause of my beard. It was a woman I worked with. Hilarious, cause I use computers at work.
