You can tell.  Retrievers get the white fur lining their eyes as they get up in years.

All these pets remind me I still need to get a cat...  I miss my old one.  He made it to 22 years old.  Sadly I have no pictures.

... 22?! Geez! Old cats are kind of freaky... but then again, so are fat cats.

I have a cat whos... 23. My dad had him before he met my mom. So he's older then me by a long shot.  That's also one of my favorite pictures....

Smokey (My old cat) was in great health up until his last year really.  Still able to run around and box with me and all.  Then that last year he just kinda dwindled down, and stopped eating much.

To this day I really think he was just holding on to life long enough to see me come back from Iraq.

One year there, wasn't so bad.  As my introduction thread stated, former military mechanic.  I'm out of the service now though.

Pretty dog Hyper. How old is she? The picture is rather grainy but she looks upwards of 8 yrs old to me. Make sure you get her an x-ray examination when you take her to the vet. If she has external growths on her skin you can be sure that she has some inside of her too.
