Sounds interesting.

Can't wait to work on it.

Can't wait to play.

When the idea gets the interest, it's hard the wait, right? Not to me, I can.

There are several ways this could work. But I wouldn't ask for a forum until I'm able to create one demo with a working engine.

Some good ideas... just wondering do you have an engine in mind that you want to use?

Indeed I have.  :D Though I'm still learning ActionScripting. So for the time being I'm splitting the project in two:

1) Radical Dreamers: Side scrolling platform style (This will be my first attempt till I get the second one right)
2) Chrono SSB: This will be the final project once the game engine is completed and I've got all the sprites done.

At the moment I'm trying to make MUGEN style Kid sprites from scratch (and it's pretty difficult). Then I'll make Serge and Magil done. Once they're done, I'll start making CC and CT sprites like that and add to RD project as expansions. Once all of them are done, I shall release Chrono SSB.

Those who know how to create sprites for MUGEN style, feel free to assist.  :D

Ooh, Radical Dreamers. I love that game. I'll try to help with that one as well.

Although I prefer a side-scrolling beat'em up style, I wonder if it will be like Castlevania?

I haven't really play Castlevania before, I suppose after watching the videos on Youtube, yes partly.

 But this should fit the description.

Yes, we'll have stats, skills, FMVs (which will come later when I get my new tablet), and other things but first I need to focus on the engine and preparing Kid's sprites at the same time. Unfortunately I'm a zero in sprites. ={ So temporarily gonna modify RBO's sprites to Kid's (you see the style in the video).

When everything turns out good we'll switch to story and graphics.

Yeah, I know the sprite things will be a hard job, it took me one year to complete my Golden Axe remake project even if I used the original sprites.
Good luck to your project, I 'm really curious about how the sprites will be although it might be too early to talk about it.  :p

 You can say that again. Let's see how things work out. For the Alpha 1 demo (only released within the Compendium) if people aren't satisfied with Serge's sprites and the gameplay then the style has a possibility to change. Making the game engine may or may not be a problem, but the AI for the enemies definitely are (unless I have enemies that attack randomly anywhere instead of only the player). A friend of mine suggested using OpenBOR instead, but let's see what suits best.

Yeah, I'm a coder for openbor 1 years ago. Although during such a long time's absence, I don't know how it is going on now...

What?! XD Blimey! Go to the forums and check it out! =D If we choose OpenBOR then I'll definitely require coders!

You would have better luck finding spriters after they see some work. I would just code it and use generic sprites or rips from CT.

Idk yea making custom sprites will take fore ever if your also doing the programming. If you ask me makin it 3d would be a tad easier. A good engine to use that is easy to learn is 3D Game Studio. Uses Lite-C and there is alot of help on the forums for it.
