I see a Megami Tensei avatar!

Yep I finally decided to use an avatar. So I figured I would go with one of my favorite game series.

Hello!
In my breaktime and course of searching the japanese interwebs I came across this interesting little blog, entitled Lion Heart.

http://www.dhcblog.com/sisioh-sei/category_25/

What intrigued me about this particular category was some really well-done manga-style pages. I bet the website already knows about it, but I figured I might as well post it anyway...

Excellent find Yoko!! Thank you for sharing these! I enjoyed looking at them. The art was just fantastic! I really loved the one's where: Magus was the prophet with Schala and Janus, when Magus was descending the Ocean Palace elevator, and where they battled Queen Zeal - she got struck and blood was rushing down her face as she was holding Magus's face. This just hit me in some weird way... it was amazing. The artist's Queen Zeal was awesome.

I can only hope but wonder what really happened if a true re-release in next-gen graphics would be like. This webpage gave me great insight. Did Queen Zeal hold Magus's face realizing she was Janus before she died? Did she snap out of that "power-lust" over Lavos after defeating her... was she even killed at all? Was there any remorse between Magus and Queen Zeal...? etc... (Be a shame to kill off such an important figure...)

I hear ya Shadow...and I wish it was a little simpler; whoever wants to translate this couldn't just feed it through a translator and give us the text: they would have to either know how to read and translate it on their own or rewrite it and feed it through a translator. It's an arduous task. I'd edit the text in, since that's no problem, but I wouldn't be able to translate it worth shit.

And we'd also need permission from the author of the work...so, here's to hoping that someone will take up the task.

I'm pretty sure they're just Japanese doujin...I think you'd only need as much permission from the author as the Compendium got before doing the CT retranslation...>_>

And that would be how much?

None, methinks.

Still, whoever made this obviously put a lot of time into it...if we just rip it, translate it, and reproduce it, what does that say about us? Whatever, this isn't a morality issue--it's an entertainment issue.

It says that we enjoy their work so much that we'd like the opportunity to enjoy their work fully & share it with others (which is usually an artist's greatest aspiration anyways)...y'know, without having to completely learn a new language...

Even if you are extremely confident that the artist would have no problem with you doing this without their explicit consent, it's still an act of courtesy and a sign of respect to ask permission first.

Problem with this scenario though, is I'm sure more than one artist worked on those.  Also doujinshi's are self published.  To make matters more difficult, Chrono Trigger is over 13 years old.  This predates common use of the internet by doujinshi publishers, so contact information for the artists may not be available.  (Unless these are recent)

On the other hand, doujinshi were never planned for release outside of Japan.  Translating it to English has little to no effect on the artist's income for their work.
