either Chrono Trigger or Mario 3, leaning toward Mario 3.

However you tell me. If you know of the prequel or sequel to Terranigma lemme know. I for one was confused at the end. The whole final parts of the game got confusing, as there were two 'girls' and i kept forgetting by hair color who was suppose to be "your" girl from the underworld verse the one above from Stockholm. The end I THINK was suppose to mean a lead in to something unfinished, so I didnt consider it a tragedy. if i got more drawn into it, i suppose the overall plot was horrendously sad, one of those 'it was all a dream'....sort of. again, confusing for me still. im looking forward to someday replaying it.

What got me was how it had one of its "memorable moments". Chrono Trigger has several, that depressing feeling when you arrive in 2300AD, the first time you hear Chrono's Theme, time when you know your lost as crap. the horrible music of Zozo from FF6, that stuff. In Terrinigma for me, the "aw shit" moment for me when i play it again will be Lahran (or was it Louran?) due to the game's annoying physics, I was in that nightmare in the desert for hours (and given how little i play during the day...weeks) trying to figure out where the hell to go before realizing that one enemy walked into a crevice in the wall. That is going to be a song for me along with level 3 of marble madness which will dwell up in me an "oh crap not this again, the horror!" thought. Its like that moment when a boss jumps out at you and your out of everything and those most awful thought hits you "when was the last time I saved" which is the worst thing you can think.

Go for SM3. It's a great game and it will help changes things up. It won't be as much of a time sink, and if you still want to play Chrono Trigger after, you can.

Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia are the other two, but they aren't true sequels or prequels - just more thematically similar games where the hero has to face off against an incarnation of Satan/evil. There's definitely some heaven/hell vibes to the series. Terranigma is the last of the three and by far my favorite.

I finished Mario 3 a few days ago, holidays are hard for me. Anyhow, I got 3 whistles but didnt use em. did every level. I got the N spade house like a dozen times, but didnt find the white ship.

Now I started Super Mario World, 96* here I come!

Up next week will be Mario World Yoshi's Island. I hated the kiddy graphics as a kid, but I've gotten past em and enjoy the game.

Yeah! And you know you have to get to the secret bonus levels at the end of the game. I think it was all for the Star Road, and it has funny level names like "Groovy" and stuff.

I always heard this game was fantastic, and even better than the first Super Mario World. Unfortunately, it was late in the SNES lifecycle, so I never got to play it outside of demo's at the store. Let me know how it is!

I guess I'm still technically new here, but if theres any videogame you want to play on emulator from 1980 to 2002, ive got absolutly every ROM, id be happy to email you a copy.

I'm playin Yoshi's Island, woo! I'm in snow land for now, so far got perfect scores for the first 4 worlds. Saving the bonus levels for the end.

Up next...I'm thinking of playing Seiken Densetsu 3 or Final Fantasy Tactics

A bit of poor scheduling on my part had me bouncing between The Thaumaturge and Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. I beat the latter, and I should return to the former, but now I'm back on Another Eden catching up on the main story since Xianhua effing breaks everything that doesn't absorb her attacks (okay, properly set up, so can others with a Starchart). I have a basic understanding of the Stellar system but I need to figure out how to acquire starcharts/points for those who can use it.

How's Eiyuden Chronicle? Does it in any way live up to Suikoden? I've been wanting to check it out along with Sea of Stars kinda like throwback-style RPG games on a modern console.

I am probably gonna finish Atelier Shallie tonight which will open up the gate to the PS4 for me. I've been into the PS3 Atelier games for awhile now and it's just like fun, rompy, not-really-too-serious and I've been feeling so tired of fighting in RPGs but the combat in this game is so easy, a monkey toddler could do it, lol. Anyway

I've also been poking around with Dragon Quest Builders and Potion Permit. I've been really into the 'cozy' games as-of-lately I dunno if it's because of my age and or I've just never really been into the Triple-AAA type of games ever since the PS3. Like Uncharted, Last of Us, Horizon, etc. I'm just not into it even though the graphics look nice. I was kinda thinking I'm more into the 'weird' games like think Incredible Crisis! or Mr. Mosquito. Those're the kinda of games I look for now.

There's a lot to love about it IMO, but honestly, I'd tell anyone to wait a couple months while the developers work out the bugs. Or at least wait until it's on sale.

It feels like a Suikoden, if a lower stakes one. Aside from a couple of weird difficulty spikes, I enjoy the gameplay. The war battles are entertaining to watch (and amusing at times, in the case of the 'live feed'). I love the mini-games (to my surprise, I ended up liking the card game more than the beigoma/spinning tops). Not a fan of the racing game, but then, I usually don't like racing games.

My two complaints are the crashing/freezing rate (which honestly, should be fixable), and the  requirements for recruiting one of the characters (which involves beating many beigoma games... and that's fine... but there's that 'difficulty spike' with one of the matches and it relies mostly on chance. Which is fine for higher level games, but as a requirement for recruiting a character? Ridiculous, and I honestly hope they fix that).

Despite that last paragraph, I played the game long enough that several songs are living in my head rent free (music's fantastic too). I did mess up and made the game harder for myself by not exploring a specific area lol (hint: not all fishing areas are marked by docks!). Basically, I needed to recruit someone, and their absence was blocking a lot of castle growth. I still managed, but having that person earlier would've been nice.

I liked all the throwbacks to Suikoden and Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. Not sure what the future of the series is though, with Murayama gone, but I would have loved to see another tale told in this world, but with the emotional impact that S1, S2, and S5 (and parts of Tactics and Tierkreis) had. Eiyuden definitely has its moments but it's not quite up to that level yet.

So yeah... if you get it, it's got Suikoden elements but definitely don't expect a clone.

Okay guys, hear me out. I was just chilling with my friends on Discord and we were talking about some stuff, when out of nowhere, one of us says, 'Yo guys, do you remember Dead by Daylight?' and we were like, 'Hell yeah!' So, we started playing like in the good old days of Covid, and I've got to tell you, it was a rush of nostalgia. It's not that the game is so good, but when you play it with friends, it's so much more fun. So yeah, I'm playing Dead by Daylight now.

Oh yeah, from what I remember, DBD is probably only good with friends, lol. Fewer weirdos doing weird things.

Currently playing Visions of Mana. First main line Mana game in 15 years, so I'm super stoked. Bought the CE and everything. Really enjoying the game so far.

Schala got me into Final Fantasy XIV recently, so there's that.

Also, because I'm a big collector, I've been playing a lot of NES Zapper games - particularly Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley, and Wild Gunman.

Also, since I have ROB and the necessary components now, Gyromite. Is it worth getting everything? Not unless you're a fanatic like me. Is it fun though? Actually yeah kinda.

Been playing Final Fantasy XIV with "Magus Trigger" as Janus says. Just daily roulettes, enjoying the new viper and pictomancer jobs. Also played a bit of No Man's Sky, as well as learning Godot for some game dev!

By talking to Boo in another thread, I wound up picking up Legend of Mana to play for the PS1. I've been hooked on it for the past few days and I anticipate beating it tomorrow. I'm salivating at the thought of beating it cause it was one of those PS1 JRPGs that just managed to slip through my fingers and through the cracks I never managed to beat it for random reasons--"I just didn't get it." I'll be so happy when I manage to finally finish it.

I've been on my PS3 a lot so I think I'll switch over to my PS5 and play another random JRPG in my to-do library. Thinking maybe trying out: Star Ocean: First Departure R, Atelier Sophie or something like that?
