Just nitpicking, but sometimes it isn't clearly stated who is speaking, and it gets slightly confusing. Still, very nice story

Yeah... I just get tired of always adding '____ said.' after each phrase... I'll try to get better about it.

If it's a short conversation between two people who have already been named, or if it's obvious who is speaking, you don't need to add '___ said'. It's for when someone new is speaking, or when someone is speaking out of turn.
