Seriously, enough is enough.  He may be a tad annoying at times, but... for as often as a couple of you rip on him, you've pretty much brought yourselves to his level.  It's not funny anymore.  Everything that needs to be said about him has already been said; there is no need for you to continuously repeat it.  He already has his "FAIL" rank sitting right there every time he posts.  If you get aggravated by something he says, just don't say anything, unless you absolutely must.  As it is, you're just giving him a completely valid reason to be your enemy.  Really; leave him alone.

You know, I should be nicer to him. But until he stops being a dick to me and everyone else, I'm not going to stop being a jerk to him. He obviously wants to be treated as such, or else he wouldn't be such a jerk to us. What goes around comes around, if you ask me.

Although he does have his FAIL rank, what bothers me is that he does nothing to try and ammend this. When he made his second account, he didn't change his behavior at all, even when he was going with 'I lost my memory'. I've stated that I'm willing to give him a second chance, but he needs to earn it. And now that I think of it, I've given him his second chance. Now he has to earn that third chance. And I don't give out third chances willy nilly.

Essentially, he doesn't pick on me or anyone else and changes his behavior, I'll leave him alone.

But, again, by trading an eye for an eye, you've turned yourself into him, to a degree.  You may be dishing out "justice," but what is the price you're paying for making yourself the arbiter?  Is this the kind of person you really want to be?

I really don't want to be like Shadow, but that's the way I feel right now. I just want to smack him upside the head at this point and say, "Knock it off." Maybe then it will sink in that it's not cool and not funny.

I try to treat Shadow well and relax about his occassional irritation at times, and he can be amusing when he wants to be. Some people are to hard on him, I fully admit.

But Hidden you have to admit, Shadow can be a dick at times. And ripping into him might not be the best course of action, but ignoring it isn't the best course either.

Become the person you hate to beat them?  It's true.  I thought his fail rank and when they removed his power of editing posts would help...It did for like 3 hours then it completely went back to the whole MEGA CAPS AND 3 WORD POSTS!

Shadow was the friendliest person to me when I joined, but I can't ignore him. EVERYWHERE I GO- YES, EVERYWHERE on the Compendium I see at least One of his posts. Occasionally they are valid, but most of the time they consist of  or ORLY or whatever. He's my friend, but C'mon dude, it's becoming more annoying all the time. Try to learn from your mistakes, instead of keep making the same one.

Reminder: Rule of thumb: if it bothers people, try not to do it. That's called common courtesy.

Moderators and admins aren't here to solve your problems for you, which means you have a responsibility to solve your own problems with other people. Instead of expecting moderators to step into your arguments and disputes, either learn to deal with the person or learn to ignore them.

Sure, we could take sides and ban someone, but chances are we won't. The reality is, you have to learn to live with people you don't like and people who don't like you.

This means trolling, flaming and insults, although against the rules, aren't necessarily meant to be enforced by moderation. Rather, the expectation is that any problems will be resolved by the individual posters themselves, as it is first of all their responsibility to respect each other.

Because that's all the rules really are -- a guideline on how to respect each other.

I generally try not to be rude, but I know I've done my fair share of bashing.
Still, if this is going to be such a big problem for everyone, it needs to be sorted out. Someone needs to talk to Shadow personally about. And try to be civil, don't "fight fire with fire". (Ha, get it? Fighting fire in a flame war!)

Perhaps put it to a vote a before doing anything? Give him time and try to talk with him/write a letter/etc., or bring it to a mod's attention.

Yes, Shadow is an annoying douchebag most of the time. Yes, the mere sight of one of his posts causes my eyes to glaze over and my mind to go to a dark, dark place for hours at a time. Yes, I myself have Mr. Bill style fantasies of mushing his head until he screams in a high-pitched tone.

BUT

Sure, he relieves boredom, but there are others here who do that. And all caps would drive me nuts and ruin the point of my threat of pulling an all caps up in your ass (SHUT THE HELL UP DUDE! is an example of this).

Personally, I can't stand this anymore. I can't stand his godmoding Gary Stu of a character and I can't deal with him bothering everyone with one line posts anymore. I'm ready to gouge my eyes out at this point...
