If you add something, you're still changing it...plus, like I said, it mirrors the Chrono Cross thread of the same name in the Polling Forum.

I would opt out for real time battles, along the lines of the system used in Secret of Mana. Also for a great English Translation of the game, that mixes translating with good dialogue. I'm playing through the CC Retranslation and it's a bit dry in parts for my liking, lol. Other than that, not much I can think of. They pretty much got it right the first time. I would like to see it, though, where when you level up, you get a certain amount of points to spend on your stats and skills; it would definitely make a more productive ground for pvp. Though, you'd have to add in more skills, too.

As for the thing with Lucca's mother, Lucca set up the gate herself so she could go back. I don't know how she did it, and the game doesn't really explain. Wish it did.

The thing with time travel and having consequences, think about it. This is the one thing they did get wrong when putting Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross together, but if they did do it right, they wouldn't have a basis for a game. see, this is what I love about these games, the theological parts. People often have the mistaken idea that by going back in time you can change something to affect the future, but the fact is, with fate, you can not change the future because it would create a paradox. Your actions can only have out to one result. the key to this is, if you go back in time to change something, you were meant to change it and the future already reflects it, yielding no change whatsoever. You ended up fixing/changing nothing, yet you were still meant to be there in the first place.

Chrono Cross was the first instance I've seen of a non-fixed timeline. Meaning, you could go back and change something and have it have an effect on the future. Oddly enough, there can be no fate in this, no destiny, because whatever you do can be undone. It's wildly out of control and would never work in reality, because there would be an infinite amount of dimensions to reflect every minor difference. Every time you changed something, even with the passing of human foot in the dinosaur period, where no human should be, it would have a huge chain of repercussions. Much like the saying: A butterfly flaps it's wings on one side of the world and it creates wind on the other side. But how does the Butterfly know when to flap? It doesn't it just flaps. Chrono Cross did a great job of making it believable, but when it comes down to terms of reality, it just isn't possible, that we know of. Back in the 1400's we knew the earth was flat, though, if you get my point.

How would you control all 3 characters with an action/RPG style battle system? Or Dual & Triple Techs?

I don't really understand where you're going with that bit about fate...how is there fate if there is already a future? What is the Entity striving to change? The Keystone (K-1) timeline exists and when CT starts (or sometime along the point in which Marle is deposited in 600AD) the K-2 timeline is created because of the Entity.

And the butterfly effect isn't just a saying, it's really the basis of Chaos Theory (or at least a popular example).

You would control them much the same as you would in Secret of Mana, if you ever played that. They had a three character party there that worked out pretty well. What would happen is, you would only control one char at a time, the other two relying on AI to run around and attack. Like SoM, you'd be able to set how much of attacking they did on their own, whether or not they used techs, or even fought at all. How the dual  and triple techs work into it, is you would select which dual tech you wanted to use, or the triple tech, and it would go into a waiting mode for the other char(s) became ready to attack again, and then it would unleash.

What I was saying about time travel and the consequences has almost nothing to do with the games. I merely stated that I liked the theology of the games twist on it, but the games version of time travel would not work in reality as it would create a paradox. Sorry if it confused anyone. It was not intended to.

Yeah, I know that's not just a saying and that is has meaning. it's not an idiom. But the butterfly effect is a great way to relate to how the time travel works in CT and CC, where one little minor change can influence everything.

Even my very first play through the game at the age of 8 or 9, I thought that there were not enough locations to visit on the world maps, especially 65000000BC, I mean you'd think there are more places to visit in that whole continent.

I agree about needing more places on the World Map, but think of it this way...65000000BC was vastly unexplored and the society was not advanced at all. It'd make sense for their to only be a small semblance of civilization.

By my recollection, there were a lot of mountains, not just around the lava crater where Tyranno Castle is.

Aye, the Prehistoric map was pretty empty, but it seemed sensible. Speaking of maps, and how they're pretty empty, I always wished you could visit Arni or some of the Chrono Cross locations in CT. Maybe just Termina, or something...it wouldn't need to have the thousands of people inhabiting the chain of islands, it could just be a small island-town, or something. I'd be willing to suspend my disbelief, if it were there.

That would be impossible.

Unless it is like the Dimensional Vortexes where they appear after Lavos's defeat.

IDK, Sarge, unless there is proof otherwise, that Temporal Research Lab you visit in the DVs might be Chronopolis, most likely post-Time Crash, since no one is around except the murderous computer.

Okay, visiting El Nido in CT is impossible, but I don't think the Lab is Chronopolis.

You mean that between the Time Crash and Lavos connecting the area to the past, it ended up on the Vortex?

Key words: No one is around.

Maybe between Chronopolis being abandoned and Serge with Wazuki and Miguel showing up, Crono and the rest found themselves there while exploring the DVs.

IDK, Sarge, unless there is proof otherwise, that Temporal Research Lab you visit in the DVs might be Chronopolis, most likely post-Time Crash, since no one is around except the murderous computer.

First off, Belthesar started a "Temporal Research Lab" of his own in 2300 AD - 100 years before Chronopolis existed. It was the research that Belthasar was doing in this lab and Project Kid that ultimately led to the founding of Chronopolis. So there was more than one research lab on time than just Chronopolis is what I'm getting at here.

And visiting El Nido during CT is definitely impossible unless it happens post-game or post DD fight. It would be interesting to know where the islands actually exist though. In  Chrono Cross the El Nido islands are said to be "west of Porre" and that's all the information given. I imagine by the tropical climate that they are probably near the equator in the sea between Porre and Choras. This is interesting since Toma's descendant is in Arni Village. He could have travelled northeast from Choras to reach the El Nido Archepelago.
