Y-E's Webcrawl Treasure Haul
« on: January 18, 2009, 07:44:25 pm »
Hello everyone! This is the links to the rapidly growing, blob-like Link Archives I started up and free web material. BECAUSE of how huge and convoluted this got so fast I've gone and taken the liberty of hosting the list on my own website. So now one or two sample links are here, and then links to the lists at my webby.

NEW!
Quote
Now attached is the 'Chrono Series Kanji and Search Tips' Document and Text file. This not only includes a list of names related to the Chrono series in their Japanese characters, but a guide on how to go searching on your own for material and a series of descriptions on types of websites you might encounter. In it is also some search pages for you to launch off from, a guide on how to avoid adult materials, rules about Japanese gallery and fanarts, and more.
A .doc format is a Document file, which may be opened by most major Word Processors and some versions of Wordpad.
A .txt file is universally opened on any word processor and is a Notepad file.
You MUST have Japanese Fonts to view these documents correctly!

Okay, so let us begin!

SoftSpace Free Icons
These are found at SoftSpace (http://soft.vis.ne.jp/icon/ccicon.html)
See them as my random avatars! LoL They are Free Web Material meaning you can use them as long as you credit the original page.

Kazeuta Free Material
Kazeuta (http://kazeuta.com/material/) has a certain type of icon I LOVE to mess with. Has a good sampling of Chrono Trigger and Cross characters. I nicknamed these 'big heads' and collect them. (I've got at least 52 others on my computer.)

The Pixiv Gallery
Pixiv (http://www.pixiv.net) is a massive Danbooru-ish art website with things separated by tags. However, as it is entirely in Japanese and requires an account, alot of people aren't able to access it here in the states. So, I've gone and presented the images in another venue. Here's links to the gallery.

Pixiv.Net Gallery
Please note I'll update at my leisure. Right at the beginning, there's not going to be ANY images until I get to uploading, LOL. Also, all R-18 images on Pixiv are NOT in this gallery.

*Ahem*
This is the gallery that includes the more risque images from Pixiv and elsewhere.

'Ownerless' sprites and icons, as in, I can't narrow them down enough to where they are. They're in another gallery.

Having Problems?

Some japanese websites block the IP of other countries.
It often will come up with a connection error page. If you suspect this is true, try a japanese-based web proxy.
My preferred is this one:
Japanese Glype Proxy
If that doesn't work, try again the next day. If all else fails, tell Y-E and she'll take it off the list.

Also, the Pixiv, Icons, and *ahem* gallery is hosted on PimpAndHost. For some reason certain IPs are banned. If this occurs, try an American based proxy. My preferred is this one:
American Proxy
You'll need to enable scripts to make the site view properly.

If you need names and search tips, look at the attached .doc and .txt file. If you want to go looking on your own, try starting at these pages:
Google Japan: http://www.google.co.jp/
Google Image Search: http://images.google.co.jp/imghp?hl=ja&tab=wi
Goo (Search Engine): http://goo.ne.jp/
Goo Image Search: http://bsearch.goo.ne.jp/

Moeeki: http://moeeki.net/
Gameha: http://www.gameha.com/
Yahoo Japan: http://www.yahoo.co.jp/

Got Extra Links?

Add them in a post, or post them at Submissions, with a short review of the website and Y-E will add them to the list.

Okay. Fixing the gallery links. But this should give everyone a good launching board. Also, my internet at home is busted so I can't update here hardly at all. Sorry about that...

North Wind
Gallery and fanfiction. This is actually a pretty popular japanese fanpage.
I've visited that site. I found it while seeing if I could find any Japanese information on the pre-release.

Well, I had this big ol' reply containing a review of every fanart link you gave, but then I accidentally closed the tab.  So, instead, you get short blurbs.

Of the sites you listed:
  • Recommended fanart pages: YOKO'S PIXIV GALLERY, pocket, Sky on the Water, Akisakura
  • Passable fanart pages: North Wind, 2hon-Dayo, Fe, Piccolo
  • All other listed fanart pages: meh.

I already knew about some of those pages, but I definitely added some new images to my personal collection thanks to you, Y-E.

Impressed with the SoftSpace CC sprites.

Very interested in what you'll put up from this Pixiv Gallery.

Also, found this in pocket's gallery and knew maggiekarp had to see it:

I'm not nearly done yet.  :o

I'm gonna keep updating, especially now that I'm back at the coffee shop. (My internet is busted at home.)
Right now, uploading images for the Pixiv gallery. Expect them a little later on.

Okay! All of the Radical Dreamers and Chrono Cross images are now in the Pixiv gallery. I've got a bit more Chrono Trigger to upload but now you can go see some of the art.

Wow! Huge thanks, I haven't seen, like, even 5% of these fanarts before. Thanks for collecting them all in one place Yoko!

If you just edit your previous post instead of double posting, it should still bump your thread...

Anyways, quite a haul indeed...Love the SoftSpace icons (neat to see Ozzie, Flea & Slash in the mix)...those should be stolen & included in the Compendium's default avys or something...

It'll only put the New tag next to the title. It won't bump the thread to the top.

Okay, just finished wading through Yoko's updated list.  Also updated my reviews accordingly.  For your pixiv gallery alone you have my eternal gratitude; I can't believe I've lived my whole life without seeing all of that amazing ct fanart until now.  Seriously, my library of ct/cc fanart doubled from that link alone.  Thank you so much for cataloging all of that.

As for the R-18 pixiv section, well, I saw it.  Sadly, nothing can change that.

Sometimes the host goes down. Try it again later, or...
Maybe somehow it's blocked by your ISP. Try a proxy somewhere?
