Not quite Goku is uncontrollable, I don't see that in a mature Crono (young yes). I think Izumi is the closest I can come up with.

There's a couple ways to play Crono, though, I think...There's the heroic adventurer ready for action and then there's the guy who's mostly dragged into everything by his friends. And pretty much everyone gets wasted at Ayla's party (Crono had to get the Dreamstone in a drinking competition btw)...I bet it's a prerequisite at most of their shindigs.

He's pretty much your standard red-haired hero. Pay attention to his actions and what the characters say about him, and try your best not to have him talk too differently from other people around him close to his age, like Marle or Lucca.


Also I'm imagining the campfire scene, but with booze. Possibly a special blend of mystical herbs grown in Fiona's forest. Yes...

In regards to Chrono not speaking, well the biggest tipoff is that people learn his name.  I didn't see any concept art with him having a name-tag, nor does his mom say "Oh dear, don't forget your sticky-notes so you can write what you want to say to people."  so when Marle's all like "Oh, you're Crono, you can call me Marle," that an acknowledgement of communication here.  All those other websites that say he's mute are just plain silly.

That's kinda what I like about CT. It wasn't like they just decided to go into the past. Everything that happened was by someone else's control. Up until discovering Lavos, and even then they were doing other's bidding. So I agree. In fact I'm more expecting him to be more like the CT:Ungluded. Naive, kind of a showoff, and the most sarcastic person on the planet.

Ok, every site but this one says Crono is a mute. And of course the slideshow ending isn't canon, so in light of this I say we find as many instances as we can in which NPCs have to hear Crono speak. Then make a short article of it! To end this damn conspiracy!

He is a mute... he uses sign language. lol.

Everyone in every time period knows this distinct sign language.

Some fanfics explained his silence as being mute, one especially explained it as being due to trauma when his father left his mom (also explained his absence in CT/CC).

However, if someone rewrote the script to have Crono talk, that would rule over all other versions.

i think its like the legend of zelda games, where its implied that link talks, but his dialogue doesnt come up on screen.

personally, i think chrono shouldve broken his silence when they confronted the lavos core.

Instead of film, however, let's insert video game.

Logic dictates that if there is more than one solution, then the problem is not conclusive.

Just because Crono never talks doesn't mean he's a mute.  Case in point? Penn & Teller.

Hopefully, this will put an end to the the Straw Man Arguments out there.

Um, that analogy is for music though...you'd have to also swap 'sound' for 'hero dialog' or something to make it consistent with what he's saying...and even then we can't say because we can't really compare it to a CT WITH (extensive) Crono dialog...

1) Crono himself is basically the main player him or herself. Hence questions like "What should we do Crono?"
2) In Cross Crono does speak. One at the deserted Nadia Bell and Opassa Beach in another (or home) world.
3) Mute or no, whether we are the eyes of the main character, we play the adventure.
