Perhaps someoen though the "Marle meets Crono" scene means Marle is already dead.
No idea, if he didn't intend to lie.

Perhaps the only suicide scene(s) I've ever seen in a video game is from FFVI...

Well, it is sorta ridiculous to think the balloons would drop her off in the future...

It's just a scene anyway, it's not like it matters. Canon states that they go and get him before they own Lavos to the DBT.

Yeah, that was the sentiment towards the Reptite ending.

NEVER ASSUME THAT WHAT IS SILLY TODAY WON'T BE CANON TOMORROW!

There's sorta a duo suicide in Lufia II at the end...it's sorta sacrificial though...? You could also say that Yuna in FFX was planning her own sacrificial suicide (til she totally pussed out & decided she wanted to live like a wuss).

Seriously. If anything Tidus technically committed suicide because he knew that he would disappear from the world if they defeated Sin. So he knew what was coming but decided to sacrifice himself to save Yuna. It would have been better if he stayed dead though. It would have been a more beautiful story. But then FF X-2 came along and fucked that up.

Tidus revives even in FFX, at the end of the ending. FFX-2 didn't change this fact.

Yeah, all Yuna does in FFX2 is search for Tidus, and ends up finding some asshole instead. (Is he the Final Boss off FFX2 or something?)

Like Utunnels said, in FFVI Celes DOES attempt to commit suicide, if Cid dies, (which I always let him as I hate the fish thing, and it gives Celes more of a reason to kick Kefka's ass and more backstory and such) but fails miserably. The games were made around the same time obviously, but the reviewer is probably just an idiot. The retranslation we did doesn't have that in it, therefore it's wrong. Everything points to it being wrong.

In fact, I was talking about Shadow, yeah, Celes didn't die after all.

Posts that are all spoilers are annoying. And I'm doing this to emphasize my point.

Let's get back on track, shall we? That reviewer was probably a moron who assumed that Marle died when Crono didn't come back. No evidence in any version to say that she killed herself. No nothing.

IIRC, it was a rumor they heard that we disproved.

Really? It's been awhile since I've played that game, but I remember him just materializing in water and swimming up or something. Pretty ambiguous for a revival ending. It's pretty much the same thing with Aeris opening her eyes at the end of FF VII

Yeah, that was the sentiment towards the Reptite ending.

Isn't that still the sentiment towards the Reptite ending, or am I missing something?

Dinopolis maybe?
