Fake Chrono Break rumor spreads

A rumor has been spreading around across forums today that SquareEnix has leaked a poster for Chrono Break. Perpetuated by Gamesarefun.com, the poster speaks of a game called "Chrono Trigger: Sands of Time," and features a silhouette with the mark "Winter 2005." a.) It's a bad photoshop job and unprofessional, b.) It goes against the tradition of nomenclature in the series c.) SE would not do something like this in business to prepare for a Chrono game, especially in the states, and d.) We would have known about the registration of a trademark for CT: Sands of Time. I would like to be the first one to be proven wrong, but this really is a cheap job. Anyway, this is just a warning not to take it as truth.

It can be viewed at http://www.gamesarefun.com/games/chrono3/newctad.jpg .

Why would they have a skinner Crono for the main character? That alone is a dead giveaway that it is fake.

Yeah, I should add that to the news. The bandana is a giveaway, plus the spikey hair.

You should back that image up on the Compendium, Zeality.  There are enough broken external links on the site already.

Besides the fact this is fake, I don't like the "skinny" Crono.

Who ever said he has to be using a Katana all the time? For all we know it was simply a falchion blade now and again. They are curved, after all, and though I'm only guessing, I'd wager that a Katana could fall into a loose defenition of falchion. After all, would the Star Sword have been a Katana? Why would those have Zeal forged such things, and also the long swords that seemed to also be existant?
Personally, I think the thinner Crono looks kind of neat. But seeing what people have said, I think I'm in a minority. And, actually, the photoshopping isn't THAT horrible. Hey, at least they made an apparent effort. It's far better than some we've seen over the years.

The biggest flaw is that the sword is on Crono's left, showing that he would be right-handed! The official artworks always showed Crono as left-handed...

I like the thin Crono though, but if Crono would appear in a sequel, he would rather be older and less thin anyway.

You know, you're discounting it too soon, but anyways... I hope these are real... I've seen no evidence that it is a fake...

The background is a Photoshop effect; it's a simple filter. SE wouldn't do something amateurish like that.

The evidence is its very existance where it is. There is a nonexistant chance that it would appear first on such a site, and nowhere else on the net. And the other comments are all damning to any idea of it being official. It doesn't have the look of something official, not least of which being the missing trademark symbol. Moreover, it has been mostly established that Crono is dead; I don't see why he, especially such a young seeming version of him, would be standing there. And finally, kudos to whever mentioned the handed-ness. It's true; the sword is on the wrong side, as he was always a left handed swordsman.

Nope I'm right-handed, but when eating I hold the fork with the right hand and the knife with the left, I'm used to it but people either say I should reverse the fork and knife, or think I'm left-handed...
