Chrono Trigger Font
« on: February 14, 2009, 04:22:47 pm »
Does anybody have a Windows Font package for Chrono Trigger? I have searched and searched but all I could find is a stupid bitmap font writer package, so I tried downloading bitmap font writer and using it, and it is nothing but a pain in the ass. Seriously, I am not in a good mood now... well, I'm in a definitely worse one than when I woke up, because I wasn't exactly in a good mood then, either. If anybody can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

yeah, that's one of the ones I checked out. the problem is, it's a font based off of the title text. I'm looking for one based off of the in-game text.

Try here: http://www.genvid.com/moonstruck/downloads/fonts.html
Just scroll down a bit. It has a three-font package of the in-game font, in different colors.

Ah, didn't try it out first. Sorry about that.
But, it can still work. My school has font making programs. If you can't find anything by Tuesday, I can use that to make a .ttf between classes.

I've read somewhere that the dialog font is a Chicago font or something similar.

Seriously? In that case, here it is: http://www.dafont.com/pix-chicago.font
It isn't exact, but it does look very similar. If you gave it shadow and messed around with punctuation placement, it'd be pretty hard to tell the difference.
Tested it. It doesn't work well in anything other than 12 point.

Square Chicago, v3, according to another thread, but that font Zephira found is pretty much it.

sorry to necro this thread, but given the relevancy i'd like to point to the font i released "trigger bold," that i recreated in fontstruct based on the moonstruck bitmap fonts.

oh, and in the thread linked by mav i called it "square chicago v3" cuz at the time it was square's third iteration of a chicago-like pixel font, the first being chicago itself used in ff5, the second being the version used in ff6 (and i think is also the version used in secret of evermore), the third being just different enough from ff6 to warrant a version bump. i decided to call mine "trigger" cuz i plan on adding to the family a "regular" weight using the ds version and a "mono" version using the snes system font.
