I don't know if this is exactly fitting or not. This is something I wrote back in January of '07. Hopefully you can find some meaning in it.
Carry On
This life that we live has more to it than we can guess
In one moment fun, and then the next completely gone wrong
But we survive, we fight, and even when we stress
We gain the strength to see another day, the power to forget as time goes on
The things that pain us, are long gone in a decades time of life
Broken hearts, loved lost ones, depression and sadness
All the things that give us cause to be filled with strife
We continue on, Keep on keepin on, forgiving the mess
We live, we love, we try to carry on
This struggle that we're struggling
Being high on life while hating every moment
And sometimes being more than just a little naive
The things we can't help but be
The words we can't help but say
Whether they're right or wrong
Soft or strong, we carry on
Love is fleeting, so make it count while it lasts
Broken hearts weigh heavy on the mind
But pull around the bow, pull steady the masts
Because it's all worthwhile on this ship of life
Love freely between friends, don't hold back
That's the lesson we should learn as we grow old
Too much we grow inward, hold so much inside
And we waste away and become bitter from not letting go
It's too easy to take this life for granted
To waste away the minutes like they don't mean a thing
Like each breath we breathe might not be our last
Like this life isn't all we have
We live, we love, we try to carry on
This struggle that we're struggling
Being high on life while hating every moment
And sometimes being more than just a little naive
The things we can't help but be
The words we can't help but say
Whether they're right or wrong
Soft or strong, we carry on
Every second that we breathe and live, is more than we care to see
A gift, a treasure, this life, that some would throw away
For every broken heart, every lost friendship, every painful upbringing
There's more to life than that, and we should treasure every minute of the day
So short a time and then it's gone...
We live, we love, we try to carry on
This struggle that we're struggling
Being high on life while hating every moment
And sometimes having to be more than a little brave
The things we can't help but be
The words we can't help but say
Whether they're right or wrong
Soft or strong, we carry on
Because deep down we know
How short a time we have, and then it's gone
Gotta carry on, through the thick of it
Through heartache, pain and suffering
Because there's more to life than that
Something worth the struggle we go through day to day
A reason to carry on
Something worth the drudgery, the pain
Of the things we can't help but be, the things we can't help but say
So short a time, and then it's gone...
A reason to carry on
