Doomsday Scenario: Lavos
« Reply #45 on: June 22, 2005, 12:02:40 am »
Doomsday was when all these evil forces (dead people, weird creatures, red lightning and etc) came popping out of the ground and falling from the sky to reclaim the earth as their own.  Magazines especially made Doomsday out to be the last day of 1999, Where Jesus would randomly appear and fight the devil....that didnt happen, neither did Y2K... this is a random post.

The way I see it, the only way to defend against Lavos would have been to detect Lavos in the earth long before the Day of Lavos. I gotta believe that we could achieve that with all of our technology, and researchers.
Then id think the only thing we could do is to develop ships big, and powerful enough to get us the hell off the planet before he/it surfaces.

The Belthasar Nu in 2300 AD says that the only way to defeat Lavos is to conquer time itself. Without a time machine, we're screwed.

But we could always leave, and try and stay ahead of his spawn.. like just planet hop, whenever one of them reaches us.

Even if we did detect him, we wouldn't have the technology (If the Day of Lavos = 1999 A.D.) to cart nearly the entire human race off of Earth and planet hop (to which planet, anyways?)

That's actually somewhat inaccurate; the only way to get the tools to defeat Lavos is to conquer time, but the actual act of defeating him comes in a fight.

True, because even if he had a superduper time machine that could do anything time-related, Lavos would still reign if you can't use that machine to get you the skills to defeat him (Unless it's a REALLY good time machine, where you can just crash it into his PD and it'll take the entire thing out, which would probably be impossible.)

Whichever. Point is, in this day and age, there is nothing we could do.

Look how we got to the moon in the 60s. And it was all cause we put so much effort into achieving it. I bet the years before the first moon landing people said it wasnt possible ever. We'll we did it, and all because we were unified to beat Russia to it.
Whats to say that if the world faced so great a threat as Lavos that we couldnt build what we need to survive.. We could send teams to Mars before everyone else to build colonys..Then one a time transport the people off the planet.. then if it all worked out we could start searching for better planets outside our universe with probes or somthing.. Now I doubt everyone on the planet could be saved. But im not sure how they would decide who gets to go and who doesnt.

Unfortunatly your probably right. People in third world countrys would probably get left behind. It would probably be the higher status in society you are the sooner you get off the planet.

IQ testing, probably; only the smartest people get to go.

Then Rednecks everywhere would dead. :P

But of course, people would be shouting "Smartism!"

And I would die by Lavos' claw-like-thing. :x
