But he didn't have any mega-elixers or potions.  Even at ** I don't think Magus could solo Ocean Palace Lavos without some healing.

Ooh, worst retcon? "Chrono Trigger: The Making Of" The GAME. Retcon whatever you want!

Entire game of the dream team characters while they are making Chrono Trigger. You get to talk to them, make decisions "Fiends or Mystics?", and you have to fight SEvos at the end. It's like lavos but more obviously japanese and with way more lawyers. And that SEvos fight? It's in court. On paper. Cause this game boasts ZERO battles!
