There are only so many controversial topics that can be properly discussed in four paragraphs written at a grade-school level without resorting to proclamation! =(

To be fair, Thought's posts tend to be far longer on average than mine, unless I get especially fired up about a particular topic -- then I'll go back and edit and keep piling stuff on throughout the day, probably much to readers' chagrin. Uboa's written a few insanely long posts too, and Krispin could always be counted on for more than his fair share of essays. I wonder what all our longest posts' page counts would be if we dumped them into Microsoft Word and gave them some minimal formatting? I'm afraid to find out.

I've come to find that J's essay-posts are actually pretty good reading materials whenever you're not on the opposite side of them.  :)

I heard about CT first in a television show about videogames called Nintendo Mania, they showed scenes from the game and talked about the fact that the game had multiple endings. I thought it looked seriously cool but I could only buy one or two games a year back then, and there were other games I wanted better, so I never played it on the SNES. It was not until I was in middle school that I played it emulated, one day my brother got a CD with hundreds of SNES roms and I inmediatly recognized the title of Chrono Trigger in the bunch. As to why I fell in love with the game, here's a copy paste from my CT meme  :P

uh, why am I here in the forums? I actually lurked around the forums and the Compendium for a couple of years, I flirted with the idea of joining the forums or the oekaki, but never really came around to it. Then, last december, I spent my (horrible horrible) chicken pox quarantine getting all the endings of RD (I never payed too much attention to the game before that) and giving a second chance to Chrono Cross (I hated it with passion back then), so I got out of sickness with a renewed love for the Chrono series, but also I discovered I had no one to talk about Chrono in RL!  so I decided my english was good enough now to give it a try and start posting here at last.

Um, and that's it, he  :D

Played Chrono Trigger first when I was seven, couldn't beat Magus until I was about nine years old and got extremely pissed at him, and when it got left with a friend, the one thing that I remembered most fondly and clearly was Wind Scene. Then I got Chrono Cross, nearly had an orgasm when I found the Enertron in the Dead Sea, beat the game a dozen times over, found this site after looking up characters, freaked the fuck out when I found Chrono Trigger on DS, and when I joined here, I'd already beaten Chrono Trigger DS about eight to ten times.

And I still love the shit out of the series and everything in it.

My brother Alex has always been telling me about the fun times he had on the older systems before he suddenly had two younger brothers to contend with. His favorite times were with the SNES, playing Mario with Dad and what have you. On a whim about a year or two ago, I rooted around in the closet and found the legendary system, as well as a carton of games and such. I played some Super Mario World and some MORTAL KOMBAAAAAAAAAAT, but wasn't terribly impressed. Alex told me that we had some games wayyyy back in the day, and he thought I should look online.

So I did. I downloaded a series of ROMs, including FF3/6/TheonewiththegirlandthesongandtheCLOWWWWN, Tetris Attack, and something called Chrono Trigger. I fell in love with all of them (well, not so much Tetris Attack), and Chrono Trigger left me thirsting for more. So I did some research and, using some of my allowance, ordered Chrono Cross off the interwebs. I loved it, and I wanted more. So I got Radical Dreamers.

I loooove Radical Dreamers.

Now, I'm a fullfledged maniac, and I'm on the road to getting Sam hooked. He just finished up the last sidequest and is getting ready to SAVE DA WORLD. I'm planning on hooking him up with Chrono Cross next.

xD The whole dead sea caused this reaction to me, specially when I suddenly recognized those weird children that kept appearing and dissapearing like ghosts. Also when I discovered Kid was Lucca's little sis, I was like "what what what what???"

wow, so soon? It took me forever to finish the game the first time, but I guess maybe I was too young and too incompetent in videogames back then  :P ha ha

Definitely, if someone who doesn't like the Dead Sea design, I doubt he/she will like Chrono Cross at all.

Here it is...he he, um I'm a little ashamed of showing this  it's the first thing I drew after two years of virtually not drawing at all, I was kind of rusty. Also I was very opinionated against Cross, I'm not anymore

Belthasar was an insufferable, megalomaniacal, egotistic, avaricious, old-fogey-douchebag of a bastard.

...There. Now I feel much better. At a certain point, I wanted to kill Belthasar and leave it all to humans in general, rather than Lavos or the Dragons or FATE or whoever the Hell else there may be.

Irrelevant, but reading about the Dead Sea made me realize just how much I love that music.  I think I'm going to go listen to it now.  =)

For me, one of the saddest moments in CT is Belthasar's "monologue" before you find the Epoch. To see the Guru of Reason fallen so low... it's such an overwhelming moment. After you play through that scene, I think you can't help but realize how very, very doomed Zeal is.

.... but then I played Cross and rescinded some of my sympathy. (I still like Belthasar, but barely.)

lol @ Licawolf for "FAGUS." I love the face he's making in that panel. He's such a grumpy pants...
