The walking animation looks pretty damn good. His hood seems a little wobbly, but whatever. Overall these sprites look quite good and professional. Would it be possible to see the portraits that Justin, or whoever, made? I can definitely the official art  not fitting the PG style though.

I was thinking we could simply swap out Magus' current spritesheet in the full Prophet's Guile ROM with Zephira's updated one and redo the sprite assembly, but if we bump it up to Size 1, it'll get interesting. Since none of the other player characters are involved though, maybe a simple overwrite of that data would do just fine. I thought we could make those changes to the already-patched ROM and then make a patch that turns the unmodified ROM into the updated ROM directly.

justin's portrait edit is insane, I could go with that. It seems to have a non-Toriyama flair to me for some reason.

Justin's portrait does look good, but I think I prefer CuteLucca's for PG.

What about shifting the entire sprite down as opposed to just his head bobbing for the down frame? Wow, looking good though.

Or leaving the sprite un-shifted? Honestly, that looks pretty good to me. I just need to find an animated version of the original for comparison...

I think un-shifted is the best way to go. Here's the current back run, and Magus' back run for comparison.

EDIT: Stupid moment. Animated that run with a duplicate frame. Fixed now.

idk...the hood not moving at all seems strange to me...it seems like it should mirror the movement of the hair somewhat, or else perhaps the hair should move differently itself since the hood would somewhat restrict its movement more than w/o...or maybe not move? though that might not look right either...

It should be moving a little at least to represent his movement.  Just having it be stiff seems odd.

Hmm...yeah, what they said makes some sense. Although the bottom left of the hood does move, with respect to his hair...If the top of the hood needs to move at all it should be left and right, so we can avoid the problem of the other gif you posted.
